The running back has a message for the school the eventually lands him.

"I just want them to know that I'm not just a football player," Lattimore told SN. "I'm a nice dude, a nice guy. I think I could bring a championship to their program. I bring competitiveness to anywhere I go."

Oregon has a much better shot here than people think.

A person I know from SC seems to think he'll end up a gamecock.

Not necessarily inside information, but he's pretty damn cocky (pun intended).

IMO, from what I have read, it will very likely come down to PSU and Oregon...

This is very big news for the Ducks! If you think of all the times to get a top recruit in your house to watch a game, this is the top. Halloween, VS USC, and so long as the early season goes well, a possible Game Day appearance. If he says no to that atmosphere than I don't want him.... well maybe I still would. :D

Just curious: MOPS and other, how would you compare Lattimore's talent, athleticism and running style to that of Bryce Brown?

Based on articles I have read, I think that Lattimore may show a more mature, team oriented, attitude towards his team and fellow players than BB was perceived to have.

Not as fast but a better overall receiving option out of the backfield. Mental part of him is a hell of a lot more mature as well.

I think they bring other things to the table.

Brown was a power back who was solid out of the backfield. Down field runner who abused you.

Lattimore is more flash with a dash of power. Good option in the open field for passing. Can catch a lot of balls.

Still, its like splitting hairs here.

You know I was just sitting here pondering things and thinking about USC playing at Autzen on of all nights.. Halloween. How appropriate of a night to play Oregon. Been some just downright strange things happen when USC played us. There was the triple overtime victory in 2001 as improbable as it was at times. Autzen has a record of not being an easy place for USC to play as a whole. Last time Game day was here and could happen again. All this in front of a 5 star runningback and hopefully a win. If it is a win Lattimore will see the pure madness and inaneness of Autzen. Think with all due respect to Penn State and South Carolina.. it would be hard to top that. Heck of an enviroment to witness. I think if one or both teams undefeated gameday might be there if other team only has one loss. I am keeping fingers crossed.

If this is what it comes down to, visits will play a key role. I'm glad he's coming when we play USC, and when PSU plays Eastern Illinois. :D

Fantastic. I just hope that if we miss on him this time, we don't have ANOTHER meltdown on here and people start whining that we're going off the west coast and everything.
