93 Power Forwards

Jamaal Mashburn B C+ C- C C A

After a very solid season for the university of Kentucky, Jamaal decided to go pro. "Monster Mash" led his team to the semi finals of the NCAA tourney where they hit the Michigan Buzz-Saw and were understandably shellacked. Over the course of the season, the Junior posted a solid 18/9 and was deadly from the corner. His length makes his shot nearly impossible to guard, but it can get a little flat. While he got accused of being "soft" in SEC league play at PF due to his propensity to not gamble when contesting shots, when he moved into more of a cornerman role he excelled. He wowed scouts with his combination of finishing skills at the basket and range. His frame could use a little work but his skill is undeniable.

Vin Baker B D+ D- C+ C+ A

Vinny Baker comes out of the small New England school: The University of Hartford. He was passed over by every major and mid-major in the country and accepted to attend the small school in the North Atlantic Conference. His first year he stunk, posting a paltry 5/3 with good minutes, which earned him All-Rookie Team (which says something about the conference). His Sophomore year was also forgettable, but when he hit his junior year, he exploded: he finished with almost 25/8, conference MVP and pushed Hartford to the conference tourney runner up. His senior year was the stuff of legends as he drug Hartford with a 27/10 average but again came just short in the NAC tourney. Surprisingly he decided not to attend to combine but scouts came away from private team workouts quite smitten with his grit and tenacity around the boards combos with his ability to finish. While not the glittering prospect Shaq it, Baker has improved every year, is still very young for a senior at 21.

Bo Outlaw C+ D+ D- C+ C+ A

Texas native son Charles "Bo" Outlaw is a very complete prospect out of Houston. While he never posted the greatest numbers, he was a model of consistency. Throughout his career in the SWC, he posted around a respectable 12/9 every year. He was a double double machine in conference where tough and rugged play is a must. He loves to get "stuck in" and fight a scrap for balls as well as his movement on defense is top knotch. His post game is what holds him back from being a top prospect, but the general agreement among scouts is he oozes with potential.

Rodney Rogers: C+ C+ D C+ C+ B

Stretch four out of the Wake Forest. While he had an up an down season, he put it all together and led the Demon Deacons to a sweet sixteen date where Monster Mash smashed 'em. Don't let that fool you Rogers was obnoxious to guard. Between he and Mash, they combined for half the game's point and a dozen three pointers. While scouts think his great athleticism lend to a decent future at PF, his limited strength at the position will probably necessitate a shift down to SF. While he is stuck between positions, the general agreement is he has the drive to show he deserves to be in the NBA.

Rastko Cvetković:C C- C- C B- B

He's big, he's bad, and he wants that ball coming off of the rim. Another Yugoslav is making the move to try and make it in the NBA. While Rastko Cvetković is no Dino Radja, the Serb has a really solid skill set. His footwork on offense an defense is really a work in progress but no ball coming off of the rim is safe from this kid and he really rips them down with force. Man of his opposition have met his elbow then they tried to encroach on his territory. This has led him to get into his share of foul trouble as FIBA doesn't take kindly to elbows to the head. While it may take him some time to get used to the rule changes (like you cannot just rip a ball if it bounces off the rim you have to wait for it to come off the cylinder), he should make a solid addition to a post rotation.
