94 Power Forwards

Top 5 Power Forwards Prospects:

Chris Webber A- C C C B- A

The man at the center of the Fab V storm. The money, the cars, the women. This all made scouts very worried about his character, and then they saw him at the combine. Nobody could stop him when he got near the hoop. By the end, some of the scout were even comparing his set of finishing moves to Loy Vaught. He is tenacious on the boards, and positions himself very well. Scouts think he has huge upside and will be around for a long, long time.

Jawan Howard C+ C C B- C+ A

If there was a victim in this whole fab five debacle, it would probably be Howard. Though Jalen may have been on the outside looking in, Jawan looks like it may have been guilt by association. But when the NCAA wanted to sweep the team clear of any taint, Howard got carried away as well. As a player Jawan acts like a professional's professional. He does all the little things you need to be good at your craft. His footwork on defense and rebounding is top shelf. You could write a text book on his jump shot. His set of post moves may not be the best the NBA has ever seen, but you will never be able to fault his footwork in the post. Scout love this dedication to his craft and rate him out as probably the safest pick in the draft.

Lawrence Funderburke C+ C D B+ B+ D

Very mature post out of Ohio State. He earned his all-american status as his rebounding and defense were miles ahead on anyone still elligible for the honor at his position. One of the biggest issues with Lawrence is at 6'9" and only 230, scouts are not sure how long he can last at the NBA level. He plays with reckless abandon that, while he would help any team, injuries may start to add up.

Brian Grant C+ C- C- B- C+ A

He a Jawan are the classic good guys in this class. They go about their business, are good in the lockerooms, and do their jobs on the court with supreme professionalism. He is exceptionally strong, and uses this to great effect on defense. His box-out needs some work, but his shear brute-strength has overcome all challengers to this point. He tends to rely on his physicality a little too much on offense, and never really developed a finishing move beyond either bull-rushing or slam-dunking.

Dontonio Wingfield C+ D+ D+ C+ B C

This freshman phenom wowed university of Cincinnati in his one year as the big man on campus. He came in ready, and knew he was the best man on the court from day one. He owed his competition on the board and averaged a double-double this last season. While he had a good year, scout were concerned that he really could use another year or two to polish certain aspects of his game. This concern over his maturity led to the low grade.
