Re: Kyle Kempt 2013
He is Cody Kempts brother and is a pro-style QB so he would not fit well in Oregon's offense so I am sure the Ducks are not even looking at him.

Re: Kyle Kempt 2013
Oregon commit Bryan Bennett is listed as a PQB. If the younger Kempt has wheels we could recruit him. That is flat crazy that Stanford is already offering 2013 kids. I doubt Harbaugh is even there then.gofightingducks wrote:He is Cody Kempts brother and is a pro-style QB so he would not fit well in Oregon's offense so I am sure the Ducks are not even looking at him.

is it just me or is the following statement completely hilarious:
"he'll likely be the top prospect to come out of Aloha since former Arizona quarterback Nic Costa in 2001."

Why is it funny? Costa was a 4*, top 100 level, Elite 11 QB. That was the same year Costa, Kellen Clemens, and Derek Anderson were all in the top 100 and all three were at Elite 11 as well.chapelhillduck wrote:is it just me or is the following statement completely hilarious:

I think he finds it funny since Costa never amounted to much in college while Clemens and Anderson are both in the NFL.tonyd wrote:Why is it funny? Costa was a 4*, top 100 level, Elite 11 QB. Didn't say top QB, said top prospect. Costa was one.

Re: Kyle Kempt 2013
You know....now that I think about it, Costa was an good prospect. As I remember he was a really big, really fast QB...as crazy as this sounds not that dissimilar to Jake Locker. He would do well in the ducks current offense. He just received some of the worst coaching in recent Pac10 history.....no chance.
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

I think it's hilarious, better yet ridiculous, because they are already projecting that for a kid who hasn't even started HS yet, not to mention all the other kids who also either will or will not develop during 4 years of HS.tonyd wrote:Why is it funny? Re: Kyle Kempt 2013
huh? Costa was as tall as Masoli but about 20lbs. lighter and a not so good arm. And in no way was/is he like Locker at all. Locker is about 5 inches taller and 25lbs heavier. And that's just out of HS. You must be remembering someone else but Costa would have been a wr if he came to UO.As I remember he was a really big, really fast QB...as crazy as this sounds not that dissimilar to Jake Locker.

Re: Kyle Kempt 2013
OK, I don't remember his height but somewhere around 6'0" sounds right. Perhaps in high school he was 200 but the time he was an upperclassman at Arizona he had a good stocky size, 215-220...thick like Masoli. Not sure about his arm, never followed Arizona football. Regardless....Lets get back to Kyle Kempt...hines wrote:huh? Costa was as tall as Masoli but about 20lbs. lighter and a not so good arm. And in no way was/is he like Locker at all. So you don't think Harbough knows much about evaluating talent?RanDux wrote:I think it's hilarious, better yet ridiculous, because they are already projecting that for a kid who hasn't even started HS yet, not to mention all the other kids who also either will or will not develop during 4 years of HS.tonyd wrote:Why is it funny? The underclassmen in-state QB to watch out for if you're an Oregon fan is Eric Williams from Jesuit. Was 6'3, 200 as a freshman, coach thinks he'll be about 6'4/6'5, 220 by his senior year, can really move and has a cannon for an arm.

This kid?

Eric Williams, QB, Jesuit (Portland, Ore.)
One of the top programs in the Northwest, Jesuit has a track record of consistently putting out top teams as well as top recruits.
Eric Williams, a quarterback from the class of 2012, should emerge as another outstanding talent to hail from Jesuit. The athletic, 6-3 Williams is a dual-threat at quarterback who has great bloodlines. His brother, Scott, was quarterback for Jesuit this past season and is now playing at Yale. According to head coach Ken Potter, the younger Williams is already ahead of his brother. His father, Larry, was an All-American lineman at Notre Dame before a long career in the NFL.
“He’s just really athletic,” he said. “I think he’s going to be a 6-4, 6-5, 215- or 220-pound QB that can run and really throw.”
Sounds like a good idea.

Yes, I've heard very good things about his potential.
