What's for Dinner?
Thought it would be fun to know what everyone's cooking for your Christmas feast?
We're doing Christmas Eve at our house for 23 people. I'm bbq'ing a 23lb Prime Rib on the grill (charcoal) and combining that with marinated dungeness crab! Can't wait!

I love good tamales! If you're ever in Grants Pass on a Saturday in the summer, go to the downtown Saturday Market. Great Tamales to be had! Of course since you are in Florida that may be difficult.FlDuckFan wrote:Going to the inlaws tomorrow for a late lunch/early dinner don't know whats being made, then after heading to my parents where we will have Tamales and such. Yes, good tamales are hard to come by out here in Florida, had to fly in my grandparents from California to get some.EncinitasDuck wrote:I love good tamales! Head to my son's place for Ham, fettuccini Alfredo, a Cheesecake Factory cheesecake.
Pumpkin pie a possibility, as well.

I'm undecided on the bacon-wrapped scallops again. I might as well just start running now to get an early start, lol.

Re: What's for Dinner?
Going to be at my parents house with prime rib, mashed potatoes, and broccoli-cauliflower salad for dinner, pumpkin roll for dessert, and cookies, veggies/dip, and meats/cheese/crackers for pre-dinner snacking. I've been cutting my food intake slightly for the past few days so I can enjoy tomorrow without thinking about gaining weight. I did this for Thanksgiving and didn't gain a pound over my normal weight so I'm hoping it works again for Christmas.

Re: What's for Dinner?
I cooked two prime ribs for our family dinner. Came out perfect. 375 degrees for 1/2 hour to sear it to keep the juices in, then lower heat to 325 and cook until internal temp reaches 120 then pull it out of the oven, cover with foil until temp gets to 130 then serve!

Being in France... we had lots of wine and champagne, salmon, ham and crudités for appetizers, escargots, puff pastry shells filled a delicious sauce and small quenelles, chapon (large chicken), a cheese tray and, of course, a bûche de noël!
Notice the plane that we flew on?

What do you cook your crab in (spices/seasonings)?
