One thing I've noticed is that at the beginning of the year OSU tried to equate new starters on the OL to replacing injured starters in an apples to oranges comparison. Obviously there has been a full season of play now and nobody is a new starter, but I don't think they're going to find it as easy to run against us as they might think. A review of the 3 playoff games when its all over is going to find that Oregon played the best on both sides of the LOS.

I hope you're right.

On paper, they are arguably the best defense we will have faced. I haven't watched enough of their games to evaluate them in action.

I do think they are overrated due to their fast paced offense that makes game seem not as close as it should. fSU played them good for almost 3 qtrs and FSU isn't anything special. Who did Oregon really beat? MSU is it at home. We beat them on the road. They crushed Arizona in conference game. Yet, Arizona lost to Boise.
LOL, its like groundhog day!

I will admit that the score against FSU probably didn't reflect how competitive it was for much of the game. But hey, Oregon's offense could not be stopped, and while Oregon struggled to stop FSU, we came up with key turnovers to blow them out.

But going on to say we have no other quality wins is pretty goofy. @Utah, @UCLA, vsArizona, MSU, and vsFSU are very impressive wins.

Can't wait for this game to be played.

Hello Ducks.

For the best Buckeye forum check out buckeyeplanet.com. It is heavily moderated and so stays fairly civil.

For really top notch analysis and in depth discussion of all things Buckeye elevenwarriors.com

I'm a lifelong Buckeye fan but have lived here longer (since about the time of the Toilet Bowl ;). Really looking forward to this matchup.

BTW, why is one of your moderators a LSU fan?

Go Buckeyes!

Welcome.

I've been lurking on Buckeyeplanet this morning...haven't checked out elevenwarriors yet.

Thanks.

As game day gets closer you probably won't find a better breakdown of both teams than on Eleven Warriors.

Welcome aboard, hope we can have some great discussions on both forums.

We have an LSU moderator because bud offers a great perspective from the other side of things. He's very active too, hence the moderator title.

Bud Lee grew on us like a wart since the Oregon/LSU opener at Texas Stadium. He's earned his stripes to be here and a mod, nothing but a class guy and provider of the off season visual experience thread.

Well, that certainly personifies tolerant Orygun doesn't it :)! While a lot of opposing fans post at Buckeye Planet the elitist pricks (as they're collectively known) over there certainly wouldn't make one a moderator. Good on you guys.

Bud Lee brings nothing but class and grace to this forum. He is the sort of fellow who cares about each and every injured player in the bowl games. He also generously provides useful stats like the SEC's bowl record in the past five years, and how many SECplayers are drafted to the NFL every year. We find his information invaluable and his ball-hawk-like skills in identifying which forum each thread belongs in make him the best moderator the South has ever produced. We could not do without Bud here, frankly.

I'm so done with listening to Jameis' narrative, on any f'in level, that the Rose Bowl could have gone either way. Jameis fumbled 4 times in that game, but I'm sure he only remembers the "benny hill" fumble. We got to him whenever we decided to bring pressure. Other than Dargan's INT, I saw a bunch of take-aways from the defense. Even his last fumble happened on 4th down and its not like that Defense was going to stop us at that point either.

The defense said 1st drive of the game they saw FSU players hang their heads and show fatigue. We dominated the LOS for how we wanted to play on both sides of the ball. FSU DB's were incredulous that our WRs could beat them and the same was true for their WRs who couldn't believe they couldn't get much separation with Ifo gone.

We're missing our #1 LT, #1 WR, #1TE and #1CB and we beat them worse than any team on our schedule not named South Dakota. FSU can play the what if game for time immemorial now, but that kind of result in the 3rd quarter is precisely the kind of game we play.

Bam! Excellent post. Jameis is an idiot. The bumbling fumbling that he did was on 4th down - that wasn't a stop? Oregon had a fourth down too...right before Mariota took it to the house. The difference between the two quarterbacks.

I used to do a lot of business in Seattle and got to know quite a few UW alums, and to a person, they say Oregon fan is hokeing intolerable and act like college football didn't exist before Daddy Phil bought them a program. I think they're pretty universally loathed around the PAC and Northwest.

Maybe I should stroll through Ann Arbor to find out what Buckeye fans are like.

Seriously, Buckeye fans that are reading this thread, do you think a bunch of Michigan fans would give high praise about Buckeye fans?

Loss11ngton is our most hated rival, you do the math.
No. Michigan fans loathe us. And the feeling is mutual.

tOSU certainly won't be as easy. Meyers is too good of a coach to let his team bite into the idea that the Ducks are either little or soft and are going to be pushed around easily. Jimbo had no control over his team and they seemed ill prepared for what they were facing.

Meyer has that friendship with Chip and Hef' and knows this well too intimately.
