Scout Team

Post by VinnyKnuckles »

Today was the first time the scout team players were designated. If a player is on the scout team, that is normally a strong indication that the coaching staff plans on redshirting the player this season. Of course, those plans can always change due to injuries, but for the time being it looks like the coaches hope to redshirt Diante Jackson, Bo Lokombo, Everett Benyard and Andrew Iupati. I just listed those players since they are some of the more prominent names that some felt might be in the mix for playing time this season.

Here is the link to Moseley's blog entry on this topic, with the full list of scout team players:

I think in a different season, Diante Jackson or BoLo would see the field as true freshmen.. But since those are two positions where we have loads of depth, they are projected to redshirt.

I have a feeling Benyard will see some action this season...

Strange. We have been hearing Jackson's name in just about every practice or scrimmage report. From the sounds of it, he has been outstanding so far. Kind of a disappointment to see him on the sidelines if this pans out.

My source just said Chip is officially back!
It will be announced at Autzen press conference tomorrow afternoon!

I can't wait to see that big boy play. Ever since i watched his film i've been excited to see how he stacks up against Pac-10 competition.

Imagine his play after being in the system for 2-3 years...! I love watching the potential/progress of some of these beastly linemen...

Hopefully not since he isn't ready and that would mean the Ducks have suffered multiple injuries on the offensive line. Chip said they hope to redshirt Ev this year.
