Re: Coin toss
I say take the ball. We're known for our offense, so shut the crowd up early by scoring first quickly. Take it to them. Either way, the D will be on the field soon!

Re: Coin toss
I would defer to the second half. Give Masoli time to settle down a little and get the defense out there. We all know our offense can score and can score quickly. I would want to give the offense a little extra time in getting ready and give the defense the chance to make a statement.

Re: Coin toss
I would defer because it can cost you mentally if you don't score right away. Sometimes it's better to have to fight back a little vs. being forced to score right off the bat. Could hurt the O's confidence if they don't succeed right away.

Re: Coin toss
My suggestion: Go on defense, force a 3 and out, march down the field for a TD, game over

Re: Coin toss
I like to have them defer so you can receive in the 2nd half since they may have a chance to have it two possessions in a row if they have it last in the first half.

Re: Coin toss
Oh please defer! I can't wait to see the linebackers in action. They will set the tone on defense, IMO. I keep thinking about USC's incredible defense the past few years and it was due almost entirely to their outstanding speed and size at LB. I'm anxious to see if we have that kind of play out of these guys!
