Uko Nugget... Take it for what its worth...

Post by glazeduck »

As I've said around these forums just about every post I make, I don't pretend to have ANY inside knowledge or contacts.

That said, I was talking to my brother who attends UCLA today about the upcoming game, recruits, etc. and I mentioned Uko's upcoming visit. Similar to my opening disclaimer, I have absolutely no idea how solid any of his info is, and, to my knowledge, he simply reads boards like the rest of us. A few months ago he told me that, from what he knew, we were leading for him. Here's what he told me about what he knew of Uko and us today... "from what I've heard he really likes you guys. But SC is a close 2nd."

Again, I don't think he has any insider connections, so all that is is a southern cal perspective on Uko's recruitment. Take it for what it's worth, admittedly probably not much, HOWEVER, it jives a little differently from what others have been writing, so I thought I'd get it out there...

As was the case with Keenan Allen, it is Uko's dad that is the biggest obstacle to overcome from an Oregon perspective.

I don't doubt Oregon and USC are his top 2 teams. But from what I've heard, USC is the team to beat.

I have a source pretty close to Uko and it sounds like Uko wants to play for a winning team. He also went on to tell me USC and Oregon are his top teams. If Oregon losses to USC on Haloween, sounds like he likely won't com here. Win and that's a different story.

Because so many of these parents are stuck in the 70's-80's when UO sucked and 'bama and SC where it. Just like UW fans.

Wow, how shallow.

Why don't you pick the school that is best for you, Uko, and help them win.

Something rubs me wrong with his statement. As highly hyped as this kid is, attitudes like that does not make a winner. Rather let him go to USC and develop an under performing attitude which seems to prevail down there.
Rather have a kid with a hungry attitude to succeed whereever he goes...Who was it at the Michigan game who said it "We're gonna eat tonight coach!"

I'm actually not surprised. He was really high on Oregon before they lost to Boise State. Then people were saying Oregon was out of it and Cal/USC were the teams to beat. But a few weeks later and now it looks like Cal is slipping while USC and Oregon gain ground.

I agree, Pretty silly.
