Is Terrance Lang back on the table?
So when Brandon Pili unexpectedly committed to USC, I got thinking about how many spots the Trojans do or don't have for defensive lineman. Trojan fans all seem to think they are going to get Jay T. and Marlon T. That's 3 d lineman, plus lots of folks think Tua's cousin Tagavoloia-Amosa is going to commit to USC. So I went over to the USC board to see what they were saying because we've been in on some of the same prospects. There is a thread there claiming that Lang may be looking around. He might even be at Colorado this weekend. I'm hoping he might want to visit Oregon next week. If anybody hears anything, please post it up. I think Lang is a real boom or bust prospect but his ceiling is the highest of any defensive lineman from the West Coast I've seen on film this year. He's got an NFL body. But he plays at a private, Christian high school against some of the worst talent I've seen in high school football film. He looks like he needs a lot of work. But he's as big as Defo and Armstead and arguably a better athlete. Perfect for the 3-4 too.

IIRC Lang has only been playing football for a couple years since he was more of a BB player before. His ceiling, if given the right coaching and development, is extremely high.

I am hearing he won't qualify. This is why Pili is being considered.

If Lang doesn't qualify for USC but does for Oregon, I'd have to think Oregon becomes the frontrunner so long as Salave'a and crew want him. For the longest time, he was only looking at those two schools.

Maybe he was looking at Oregon solely due to Ron Aiken's unrivaled enthusiasm.StevensTechU wrote:If Lang doesn't qualify for USC but does for Oregon, I'd have to think Oregon becomes the frontrunner so long as Salave'a and crew want him. Trojan poster over on DT said that they need to take 5 defensive lineman, so there's room for Lang but they're unsure whether he makes it in. That makes Pili a backup in case he doesn't.
