At USC you mean? Obviously, it's homer talk, but their inside info. fan--freekobe--claims Falo wants in. Lots of recruitniks agree since Falo is getting lots of SC crystal balls. I think we have a shot to turn him this weekend, but he could be giving SC the impression he wants in...though I'm sure he's not a silent or anything. They are just debating that if they get all the players they think they are getting then Falo maybe out because TE is not a big need for them this cycle.
It's all talk, but everything appears to be lining up for them.
The same FreeKobe who said that Lenoir was all USC and a silent commit? Meh

According to him, and other USC fans, Lenoir came back around in the past monthish--maybe after girlfriend decided to go to SJSU--and said he was interested, but SC told him they were full at the spot. I'm not saying that's true, but their board believes it. FK was also way ahead of the curve on the Marlon flip. He's a lot of hot air sometime, but he certainly has connections.
PS. They have an updated DJ Johnson thread claiming that Johnson has too many red flags and SC likely has moved on.
Rule of thumb on USC fans- They believe they will get anyone they want, and they don't get they will immediately create rumors for reasons they didn't actually want them. I'd love to go back and see what they had to say about the Ducks getting Springs, Nelson, and Prevot over them.

All fan talk should be taken with a grain. I'm sure there are plenty examples of players we thought we were getting only to lose them elsewhere. It's the last week of recruiting. My point is, SC thinks they are filling up, and there may be a couple players on the outside. Perhaps players we can use.

I love this board during recruiting time.. All the rumors flying the players who are
coming here then go elsewhere, the players going elsewhere who come here..
Its better then going to a circus, many more moving parts. The best part is when you get a
high ranked player at the last minute you didnt think you had a chance with.
* What's up with Tyler Johnson? I loved his game last year when looking at big WR/TE prospects. Reminded me of a Jaison Williams type. Not the dropsies part, just his build of being a receiver in a TE body. I know he really likes Oregon and was ecstatic when the new staff contacted him.
* Why not pursue Elijah Gates harder? I get the desire for tall CBs, but Gates is a better WR prospect than McNeal in my less than humble opinion. He really boogies with the ball in his hands. If they ignored him then I'm surprised. I also don't buy the tall CBs only policy, considering they offered Arizona commit Tony Wallace.
* Does Adidas drop off bags of cash in Nebraska duffel bags at 'coaches' houses or are they more subtle? I'm not scared at all of Nebraska, but I'll give my friend at Adidas football some sh1t about it and their attempts at revamping football marketing.
* On the same note, I'm sure there are family members of elite recruits who could use a job in Eugene. Or Beaverton. I don't want us to become that type of school, but if it's legal you have to explore all options.
* I like Burch. Worst case scenario we get a fantastic athlete with no position, and that's better than some of the other leftovers out there.
* Cordarrian Richardson would be a great substitute for Carr. He's a guy that reached out to me a year and a half ago to tell me how much he likes Oregon, and he's an every down type of back. I always liked him better than Travis Etienne.
* I don't mind being a table hat for a guy we're not getting like Joseph Lewis. It at least reminds SoCal kids that we're still a player.
* Falo, we're all on the same page that this is the most important recruit on our board. My USC person says they're not pursuing him, but that may be typical USC recruiting talk of "he's ours if we want him."
* Any TEs on the board outside of Falo? Mik'Quan Deane looked like he would be a perfect fit, but I haven't heard about it since they offered him. Red flags?
* If Juliano Falaniko is back on the market we need to sic Big Joe on him, stat.
* A guy who wears #9. Wink, duck, wink.
* We say this every year as we approach NSD, but so many blown opportunities. Most if it is on Helfrich's staff, although there are guys I'm surprised Taggart didn't pursue. I'm a bit tempted to write up some of recruiting boo-boos from Helfrich's staff but that stuff is in the past, although it's affecting our present and future.
* I absolutely love Artis' game. Incredibly underrated. This is recruiting hyperbole from me, but he could be a Von Miller type for us. Guy is hunting humans on the football field.
* NSD approaching really brings out the worst in fan bases. I can't decide which one I hold in lower regard, Nebraska's army of corn people and their delusions of grandeur or USC's legions of uneducated boors.
* Would like to see another big DE. Interesting if Lang is a qualifier and USC doesn't want him. I remember Taggart went to visit Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa but it looks like that was just a cover to make a last second plea to Tua.
* I would love it if Jeff Thomas came to visit, but this is looking like another pipe dream. Remember last year when we were dropping the ball on Kekoa-Crawford and McDoom? Whyyyyyyyyyyyy? Losing Merritt, Brown and Allen has left us with a bare cupboard where we once had an embarrassment of riches. Is Dylan Kane ever going to play a down of meaningful football? Sorry, WR recruiting rant over.

Right, but with SC fans it's the exact same company line every time - "We didn't want him anyway," with little/no variation.

Cant remember did they say that about DAT ? would love to do that again to them.

Deane won't qualify here.
Jeff Thomas is visiting from what I understand.
We need to get one of USC's castoff DL or more. Lang, Liechesteiner (sp), or Tagovialo. I wouldn't mind all 3 tbh.
I haven't paid any attention to Falaniko since he committed to USC, but I wouldn't be surprised if his skills are raw. I just remember him being a freak athlete, LB body and DB speed. That's disheartening. Unless he does wind up at USC, in which case I hope you're right.
I thought Deane was getting his associates degree. Has to be some screwed up academics if he can't get in even with that.
I wasn't sure if Thomas is taking a visit, if he is then I have to think we at least have a fighters chance. Mark Richt is really good at selling the family thing.
Sign me up for some of those USC cast-offs on the d-line.
From what I've read about Deane, he had some issues with math classes (where have we heard that before) that may make him qualifying questionable. Haven't heard or read anything since about him so I doubt they're after him anymore.

Ditto that for the Husky fans. They are pieces of garbage to Ruthie too if they spurn UW. Can only imagine what she is saying about Marlon now. 'Didn't want him anyway; bad character; likely would not qualify academically so will go to a lesser school; red flags in his background; SC promised cars and houses to his family, etc'.
Word at USC is Falaniko is looking into Utah or Oregon State. He's the first one out. Those schools have kept the door open.
If we can get Falo, awesome. But I hope the coaches are working those potential d-line guys. Lang/Lichenstein. Not a lot of rumors with us and those two right now. The Tag-Amosa kid is getting crystaled to Vandy. Guess SC already moved on there. Not sure why Oregon isn't getting linked to him. Vandy is a real good school, so maybe academics is the big player there.
