Toney Hurd

Says that the ducks and Notre Dame, Texas A&M are recruiting him the hardest. All speculation, but that could mean we are losing ground on another CB (Mathis?).
Either way, Hurd is a beast, and I'd love to get a visit from him.

Re: Toney Hurd
Wow smart kid too..
Hurd plans on majoring in engineering and reports a 3.5 core GPA and a 1460 three-part SAT.
(Although the engineering plan could work against us)

Re: Toney Hurd
Most players find majors like engineering and architecture hard to complete since they are so time intensive. I'm not saying it can't be done but it's not done too often. I know Roper tried an architecture major but ended up missing almost half of the practices his freshman year while he was redshirting due to class conflicts with practices. The only high level player that I can think of that completed an engineering degree was Mike Hass, but he doesn't really seem like he's going to be using it for a while.Boom wrote:Architecture is similar to engineering......

Both programs are very intensive but only Architecture is offered @ Oregon. (Engineering @ OSU, PSU & OTI) If he plans to major in Engineering, we are out of the picture. If he likes us, he may have another major in mind.

Not impossible to become a licenced engineer with a degree from Oregon.greenyellow wrote:If he wants engineering, out of his top 3, Texas A&M would be his best bet.

Maybe we're looking at him as a Free Safety? Ward is a Sr. after all.

Re: Toney Hurd
Boyett plays Strong Safety. Rule #1 in recruiting, always recruit the best players you can, don't worry about who's starting or projected depth charts.dd10snoop28 wrote:But we have boyett and I don't think he will lose that positionNCDucks09 wrote:Maybe we're looking at him as a Free Safety? I mean, who thought we would be down to our True Frosh prized DB this year as our starter?
Same deal with this kid, Mathis, and A.Patterson from last years recruits. Get the best players you can, let competition, the season, and injuries sort 'em out later!

Re: Toney Hurd
Just depends on what he wants to do with the degree, architects are engineers. But like others have said to complete the program wile playing football is next to impossible.duck55 wrote:& a t-bone steak is similar to a whopper jr.Boom wrote:Architecture is similar to engineering......![]()
