guys come on. We all know the recruiting rankings are flawed and not entirely accurate. BUT lets enjoy our spot and have fun with it.

In recruiting, hype matters. A bunch of kids committed a few weeks ago after the Spring game and due to star ratings, other recruits took notice. Even if they aren't super accurate predictors, they are at least directional. What we're seeing is a staff that recruits very well and is able to build hype. We may not get every player we want, but doors are opening for players we never had a chance with during prior coaching regimes. It's will allow the staff to take the players they want and hopefully, fewer players they are left with at the end of the cycle. So, from this perspective, stars matter a lot.

If we had seven 2 star recruits commit over a weekend, high profile/high talent players wouldn't have batted an eye.
