I believe Crocker is now a backup plan with Battle committing. There are two spots left and the priorities are Cota and Williams. Of course they would take Waddle but they thing they have a better chance at Cota and Williams.

Waddle is really really good. I hope we get him!

I don't see how you turn away any of Cota, Williams, or Waddle. I think you start nudging other guys out the door if that happens. I also don't understand Lenzy being a WR instead of a DB.

That's was along my thoughts, I wonder how many of these wr's can convert to another position.

Harrison and Lenzy can transition over to DB pretty easily. In fact, that's where I would want Lenzy. Harrison also had a great showing in the summer at CB.

Now i could be totally off on this because i have 0 inside knowledge. But it just seems that Oregon may not get Cota. This is purely from reading between the lines on interview he has done and just what seems like the Cota Family. The kid has a lot of skill and opportunities. Again -- I have no inside knowledge but just seems like a kid that might want to get out of the state and prove / play somewhere else.

Thoughts?

Those with some connections to Medford-area football on DT say they're hearing Chase is 50/50 on Oregon and that he wants to prove himself at another school, namely USC and UCLA. Not sure how accurate that is but it wouldn't surprise me considering how highly-rated of a recruit he is and the pressure he'd face being Cota's son. Kinda have to hope that his relationship with Brady Breeze wins out in the end.

Just got a UCLA CRYSTAL BALL for him today. Might be something to it.

I could live with him going to USC, Notre Dame, or Alabama. I can't with UCLA, and Nebraska feels like a poor man's Oregon these days.

I would love to see him a duck. But he has to go where he feels is best.
Following his dad may not be something he wants to do. May want to be
his own player and not following in dads foot steps. Either way i wish him
well.. Always thought his dad was one of the best safeties weve had.

I would rather he go to UCLA than USC. USC could make him a threat.

Still would feel yucky missing out on TWO Oregon sons of former Ducks (Molden and Cota) in this cycle.

Molden was last cycle, but yea, it would sting a bit. Missing on Molden was terrible, though, and really stunk of the ineptitude of the previous staff. Cota isn't as big a deal as it appears we have lots of other WRs (Harrison looks like a future star, Battle is Dwayne Stanford 2.0, and we still have remaining targets).

Have you seen the girls at UCLA or USC? Would be a tough decision for anyone, and lets not kid ourselves current Oregon is nowhere near it was a few years ago. USC / Alabama will be fighting for titles where best case scenario Oregon will be in 3 o 4 years.

A kids growing up in Medford probably wants to try out the big city too so I can see LA being very alluring to a 17/18 year old.
