When your most notable trait is recruiting, there is literally no available job for you in the NFL. Chip will go back to the NFL before WT does and I'm actually hoping that's what Peterson does. Please go coach for the Mara family.stlDUCKfan wrote:Or NFL

It worked on FSU. Florida state recruits itself but they hired a guy who's main talent is recruiting Florida of all places.Duck07 wrote:When your most notable trait is recruiting, there is literally no available job for you in the NFL. That's not true. Taggart is great at turning programs around and getting his players to "buy in". You can say whatever you want about his playcalling (it's not terrible, let's be honest) but he knows how to manage a team and a staff. He's a leader.Duck07 wrote:When your most notable trait is recruiting, there is literally no available job for you in the NFL. He's most certainly not NFL material and his shtick won't work with 28 year olds like it does with 18 year olds. the offense wasn't terrible but with Herbert healthy it benefited from always playing teams that they were more talented than. I can't think of any college coaches who were great recruiters who made it in the NFL. Pete Carroll is the closest that comes to mind and his background was in the NFL first.Phenom wrote: That's not true. Taggart is great at turning programs around and getting his players to "buy in". The offense was #1 in the nation with Herbert. There's no other way around it.Duck07 wrote:He's most certainly not NFL material and his shtick won't work with 28 year olds like it does with 18 year olds. the offense wasn't terrible but with Herbert healthy it benefited from always playing teams that they were more talented than. How many college coaches have been great NFL coaches in general? Jimmy Johnson ( great recruiter), Pete Carroll (great recruiter), is that it?

SUU - FCS
NEB - 36.4 (116th out of 130) 436 yards (103rd)
WYO - 17.8 (13th) 332 yards (21st)
ASU - 31.3 (88th) 447 yards (109th)
ARI - 34.1 (110th) 464 yards (117th)
OSU - 43 ppg (128th) 473 yards (120th)
The outlier is Wyoming but nobody is claiming the Mountain West slate was brutal. It's nice that we had the #1 offense against those teams in those games but that really doesn't mean that much considering the end of year results. WT ain't ending up in the NFL.

With Battle decommitting and Thompson likely to follow, Oregon will have no WR commits. Boy this ugly.

Remember a week ago when we didn't know how we could use all of the WR commits? Boy... those were the days.greenyellow wrote:With Battle decommitting and Thompson likely to follow, Oregon will have no WR commits. Boy this ugly.

They may have to start just asking people off the street to play if they lose too many.

We're gonna be okay. Might have to settle for Issah Crocker...not bad.greenyellow wrote:They may have to start just asking people off the street to play if they lose too many.
Is Cota trending to UCLA now that they have Chip?

WR is definitely the spot to be worried about now. Hopefully some of the decommits come back to us, but, if not, we're looking really thin there again. I just can't believe these kids wouldn't be excited to have Herbert, arguably the best returning QB in the country, throwing to them for 1-2 years. Especially with the lack of talent at that spot right now. A good WR could come in and be Herbert's #1 from the start. Pretty frustrating.

Yeah, I haven't been worried about WR, because it seems like Herbert will attract some guys wanting to catch TD passes. Maybe they are afraid of his fastball though...he was zinging them in there a few times during the Civil War.Kyle's Brother wrote:WR is definitely the spot to be worried about now. Re: So who decommits?
We might have to fill in with some late bloomers, kids who break out in their Senior year who are under-recruited. Like the Cole kid from Clackamas. High production kids that weren't camp stars. WR is always kind of a crap shoot anyway. For a large part of the Oregon glory run we had one or another 3 star to walk-on playing in front of a several 4 stars.Kyle's Brother wrote:WR is definitely the spot to be worried about now. I'm just not going to read much about recruiting for awhile. Just going to... I don't know, maybe hum to myself and rock back and forth.
Willie Taggart is a dick.
