Poly names are not always the easiest to pronounce so I can forgive him for that. I've know people with Polynesian names for over 20 years and I still have problems with some of their names.Phalanx wrote:Obviously he appeals to the players on some level, since they did a petition to promote him, etc. I just found it interesting that his description of the new recruits was as if they were sides of beef. He couldn't even pronounce Andrew Faoliu's last name...didn't he have his brother on the team all year? I will admit to cringing a little bit watching him in that interview.Duck07 wrote:He's here to be their coach first and friend second. Just like as he told his OL last season, he's going to push them as hard as they can in order to make them and this team the best it can be because that's what they want from him. I liked his BB interview where he said they're still looking to find someone as big as Joe! 6'4" 330 that kind of body size... lmaoPhalanx wrote:It was interesting watching the Cristobal interview. I've never seen a coach talk so bluntly about recruits in terms of their stats and rankings, body size, etc. I guess I'm used to the poignant personal stories that we got from previous coaches. This felt more like a post-draft press conference.

I thought he sounded very tired and maybe a bit emotionally spent. Given the events of the past two weeks it is certainly understandable.Phalanx wrote:Obviously he appeals to the players on some level, since they did a petition to promote him, etc. I just found it interesting that his description of the new recruits was as if they were sides of beef. GY.....no worries! As long as Coach Cristobal is at Oregon, the only Poly name that everyone will need to know how to pronounce is Dwayne (Seiuli) "The Rock" Johnson. Seh-ee-eww-lee is his High Chief name. Can't wait to see him on the sidelines firing up the players and Autzen Stadium!greenyellow wrote:Poly names are not always the easiest to pronounce so I can forgive him for that. No. I've never seen a LS that is not a 2* on the mainstream sites.duckfan96 wrote:Ummm looking on his twitter page shows 5 stars. That right? Are long snappers ever 5 stars? Just wondering

This is a rumour from one of the main recruiting sites that Oregon fans can look at, but apparently Andrew Johnson signed his NLI along with his Mom, and they faxed it in or something along those lines? This would be a massive get if the rumours and speculation are true!

Wasn't Johnson already committed? I love his film.CanadianQuackers wrote:This is a rumour from one of the main recruiting sites that Oregon fans can look at, but apparently Andrew Johnson signed his NLI along with his Mom, and they faxed it in or something along those lines? Re: Early Signing Day 12/20/17
So Johnson would be 16 guys signed in the early period?
Winston, Teagan, and Justin Johnson would give us a solid group of 19.
If this class finishes with keeping Webb (and adding two more TE's: 1 HS, 1 JUCO), adding 3-4 WR's (Williams, Hall, Hunt?), landing Sewell, and bringing in 2-5 more Poly kids, this could be a very full but stacked class. I don't think we're going have to fill this class up with very much bread/filler.

Committed yes, signed no. It’s just speculation he signed.Phenom wrote:Wasn't Johnson already committed?
