This Weekends Damage

Post by bigsugarduck »

I thought it would be good to start a new thread summing up what we know about what this weekends recruits.

Lache Seastrunk- Didn't make it but you should feel confident he'll make an effort to later.
Trovon Reed- ?
Owa O- Had a great time. Ducks in the top 2-3 perhaps?
Dontae Williams- Newest Commit! Yey! :D
Erick Dargen- Oh so close to committing. Wanted to I believe.
Terrance Mitchell- No doubt feeling good about his commitment
Chris McCain- Loved it and working hard on King and Allen I'm sure.
Gabe King- Down to Cal and Oregon?
Tyler Stephenson- ?

Others?

Upon seeing the game on TV:
Dior Mathis is definatly comming for a visit
Tony Washington decided to Commit

What else?
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

From everything I've heard/seen I feel like Gabe King is gonna end up a duck. McCain has been doing a great job IMO getting other players to look at OREGON

It seems like there is one player who goes out of their way to actively recruit other players. Previously, I remember Nick Cody going all out in recruiting by showing up at all the home games and talking up the recruits there and by getting their contact info. It now seems as if McCain is in that role now.

Don't forget Curtis White. He is at every Duck game and i'm sure he is in every recruits ear trying to convince them to play at Oregon.

Almost completely forgot about White since he's been committed so long.

After reading Jhop's interview w/Gabe, it's easy to tell, because he basically says so, that Cal is his first love. =Despite the fact that he now lives in Eugene; has attended several games; was there this weekend and witnessed an incredible scene; was also with his buddy Chris McCain who is an Oregon commit.......he still does NOT have us hsi clear cut #1. He says he's really torn right now and us & the Bears are tied.

Good thing is mom was with him and really liked it. I believe GK took his Cal official already. Doubtful he gets back down there again and says it's likely he'll be at more Duck games. I like our chances, but just keep in mind that first loves can have a strong hold and Cal still does.

As much as I want him to be a Duck, you have to be impressed with the fact that he's going with his heart and not committing just because everyone else wants him to. He's taking his time and thinking it over, so if he decides to be a Duck it's on his own terms. I love it. For this reason alone, if he goes to Cal, I will still root for him (until he plays Oregon!)
