I was curious if those of you follow recruiting much more closely than I had some specific thoughts on this guy and/or insight on the Ducks interest in him. He has a "final four" of the Ducks, USC, Michigan and . . . the Beavers (https://www.oregonlive.com/recruiting/i ... iver_index). He's "only" a 3*, but USC and Michigan are a couple of the big boys. And then to have the Corvallis school as one of his finalists . . . I'm just not sure what to think. Are we particularly hot after him? Is it "not a big deal" if we don't get a commitment from him? . . .
Thanks.

Re: Giles Jackson
I really like Jackson. I saw his film last year and could tell right away he was massively underrated.
He visited Eugene before, but I don't think he's a priority recruit. I'd wager our staff is slow playing him, and he says both us and USC want him as an athlete. I doubt that he winds up in Corvallis if any of his other finalists are truly recruiting him.

Re: Giles Jackson
It'll be interesting what position entices him the most. During his interview last night with Nemec, he said Oregon has Heyward and Johnson on him so it he'll likely either be a DB or slot WR, which seem to what both Michigan and USC are recruiting him for. OSU is recruiting him only as a RB.

Re: Giles Jackson
Something strange about the offer list. Three schools with New Years bowl games recently and then half a dozen .500 or lower Group of 5 type teams with nothing in between. Of course he could always grab that offer from Seton Hill (Hall?) which dropped football years ago.
