Makes me wonder why they took Capra then?

Sure, Maybe they like him but there are better players
I have no inside information, but it seems as though Capra got his offer after Grant Trieber committed to Iowa State. So Capra was seemingly the backup plan.
I honestly don't think they were tied together. Capra is a center prospect which is a need. I do think he was a late call on though. If Oregon had been slowplaying him I don't think he would've committed so soon to ASU. Perhaps he took the best offer he thought he would get as soon as he got it, but I honestly don't think Oregon was recruiting him much prior to his offer. You would think he would've had a visit and taken all the pictures and stuff, especially considering his brother is on the team if the Ducks were recruiting him at all.

Recruiting looks perfect on paper. We have an awesome Guard, Tackle, and Center. Not sure why everyone is down on Capra. From what I've heard he is quick and strong at the point of contact. Exactly what we need. He's a 3* Guard but a quality center. People are down on him because he lacks versatility. Something we shouldn't need with the last 3 years of OL recruits.

It's good to see the coaches win recruiting battles against these offer lists this early in the season.

After 2016 TCU, give me like 5 backups worth of depth at center

What a shame the kid had to put "Please No Hate" on his post.

He didn't have to. The vast majority of recruits don't put that and don't receive hate - and if they do, it's usually juvenile and easily ignorable.

You must not know how to read someone’s twitter mentions or replies to tweets. Fans of teams that don’t get the commitment are awful.

Florida fans were absolutely brutal when Pittman committed to Oregon. I've seen some Oregon "fans" who have done the same to other recruits the Ducks didn't get. I know some fans are fanatical but bashing a teenager for a choice of their own choosing is just sad.

It’s getting to the point where these kids should consider not listing any favorites or leaders. There will still be some rumors for the really top level players, but would help them avoid annoying blow back.

There would still be idiots saying crap to them. The only way to stop any blowback would be to stay off of social media during the recruitment and not read message boards.

Thank you very much Poly for helping out with the pronunciation of these Poly kids names! I have gone a couple of years in the past without knowing who the player was because of my incorrect pronunciation......... although Mariota was a quick learning experience for me! Lol. Thanks for your help!
