Opinions about rotation and player evaluations so far

He are my starters and rotation based on what I have seen so far:

STARTERS:
PG: Armstead - This is a no-brainer. Armstead sees the floor very well. He has very good handles, is a good passer, and is able to penetrate and make things happen. He defense is decent, but he needs to control the fouls. IMO, he is the only player on the team with the potential to be a dominant Pac-10 PG. He is going to have to play through some mistakes and run this team if this team has any chance to finish in the top half of the conference. Six asists tonight.
SG: Porter - I have always liked Porter's ability to score from the perimeter and this team is going to need a player on the floor that can score the ball. He is not a PG and if Armstead can excel at the PG position, that will allow Porter to move back to SG where he was so effective his freshman year.
SF: - Longmire - Ken has a great motor. He is a very good well rounder player. He is athletic and can make things happen on defense. He takes good shots, can rebound, and plays smart.
PF: - Wilson - I was extremely impressed with Wilson over the last 2 games. He looks like a clear starter for this team. Obviously I like Wilson at the 3, but he is going to have to play the 4 to allow Oregon to get their 5 best players on the floor at once.
C:Dunigan - The best big man on the roster by a long shot. He can seal off and score in the paint consistently. Hopefully, our guards can get him the ball a little more often this season.

COULD COMPETE FOR A STARTING SPOT AND FIRST OFF THE BENCH (FOR NOW):
SF: Williams - Williams looks like he has worked VERY hard during the summer. He has improved dramatically. Most noticable is the body control he has going to the hoop. He has always been extremely athletic, but if he can develop a game and play under control this season, he might actually compete for a starting position.
PF: Catron - Catron has always been a very good player and could easily end up in a starting position. Catron's biggest issue is that he is undersized for true post player and not quite quick enough to play a wing position. However, he always finds a way to make plays. I don't expect he will take over any games, but he also won't disappear either. Very servicable.

OFF THE BENCH:
Humphrey - He looked like he was getting into the flow last season late and I expected him to grab a starting spot, but so far he has not impressed me. He looks like he is pressing a little bit.
Sim - Should be the first off the bench to backup Armstead. Not a true PG, but can log the minutes there if necessary.
Crittle - Has experience and should provide some decent minutes.
Jacob - Looks like another big body that can provide some solid minutes
Wiley - Decent shooter, kind of a tweener
Singler - It would nice redshirt him, but after tonight he proved ha can contribute and rebound the ball.

I would like that lineup. But I think you got to include Sims or Hump as a main player off the bench. Porter and Armstead can't play the whole game.

Can you coach this team? I have no doubt that is the best starting lineup but who knows if that's who Kent puts out there. That said, I definitely expect Catron to start & TP to play the point... too bad.

true, but if we start them together, then bring in a wing off the bench and keep one of them in the game still, we could be in a position that a majority of the game, either porter or armstead is running the point. sometimes they're on the court together, and sometimes we get Sim some action. i think 8-12 min per game is what we should see of Sim. wing position is crowded, jamil could play there or the 4, along with williams, longmire, humphrey, and singler. so while i think porter & armstead on the court at the same time gives us our best shooter and best passer, we're gonna have to split them up a lot too so we can get 2 of the above 5 on the court as well. i personally think we go smaller a lot more often this year. Dunigan will get his 20 min, but we'll see Catron and Jacob at the 5 spot some with Jamil or possibly Singler at the 4.

Personally, I have always thought Porter should get less minutes. When his shot is on, he can be as good as anyone shooting the ball. When it's not(which is a lot of the time), he doesn't do anything. I don't want to see him throw up shot after shot this year from all areas. Get the ball inside more, or find someone that can penetrate to the hoop without getting rejected all the time.
