285 and 305. Those are some big DEs. Given that DJ Johnson is gearing up to play DE, and the ducks have three DE recruits (unless somebody plays LB?) coming in, it seems likely to me that both of those guys will be DT's. Totally understand the point that they won't be huge contributors in 2019 though.Duckenstein wrote:Poti and kwh are DEs not NTs

KWH and Poti are DEs
NT needs to be closer to 340

Yeah, Johnson is slated to play in Justin hollins spot next year.
And they told KT he will play DE but I think he will will play end and OLB depending on the formation.

Keyon Ware-Hudson's dad says he'd down to around 270ish and will be playing DE. Poti looks smaller than him in pictures. We need a big nose tackle.Phalanx wrote:285 and 305. Those are some big DEs. Ah, gotcha. DJ played DE for Miami, but OLB for us.Duckenstein wrote:DJ is an OLBPhalanx wrote:285 and 305. Those are some big DEs. I guess we'll see on the other guys; there seems to be some disagreement. High schoolers tend to fill out - we are just talking about their weight as hs seniors. At any rate, you can never have enough big uglies on the line. Hopefully we land another one.

Coach Cristobal in his presser calls Dorlus and Poti DT's. He didn't refer to KWH in terms of the specific position he plays, but since he separated them by position, it seems like the implication is that he is also a DT. I guess we'll see how it works out.

Keep an eye on dorlus at NT. They list him at 6'2" 270, but he looks way bigger than that to me, and he has a huge frame with lots of room for growth. There is a picture of him from last weekend's visit alongside Poti, ware-Hudson, and drew and Austin faoliu and he looks way bigger

According to people on ScoopDuck he measured in at 6'3.5 262. I could see us using him like Bama uses Quinnen Williams (their stud NT that is a stud).SteelTown43 wrote:Keep an eye on dorlus at NT. But in the current defense, you want a couple guys that can play nose. Not too tall, very wide, long arms, 340 lbs
You also want 4-6 guys that can play DE/DT, tall, long, and powerful around 300 lbs

You nailed it. Clemson, generally considered to be the gold standard of DL, averages 299 lbs on the DL, topping off at 350. 5 DE, DT are at 300 or above, 4 between, 265-285. https://www.tigernet.com/2018-Clemson-Football-RosterDuckenstein wrote:I guess nobody knows, not even the coaches. Since we still have around 5 spots, I’d say it’s worthwhile to offer his brother as well to try and sway sophser
