“While 2019 St. John Bosco HS CB Chris Steele claims USC isn’t the perfect fit for him, the Trojans actually parted ways with him because of the high potential for NCAA drama.
Shortly after Steele committed to USC, the Trojan compliance office was approached by multiple parties, including USC247.com, with evidence he took improper benefits. The evidence shows these benefits were funneled from USC recruiting reporters. Scott Schrader of TrojanInsider.com and Ryan Young of TrojanSports.com are the two reporters accused of doing so. Ryan Abraham and Gerard Martinez of USCFootball.com were also said to be approached about providing improper benefits to Steele, but there’s no evidence they did.

So, USC 247 accuses their direct competitors, TrojanInsider and TrojanSports, of misconduct--without providing any evidence. Why should anyone take that seriously? The pay boards make all kinds of s*** up. And it plays into the whole 'we passed on him before he passed on us' narrative. If they can't prove it, it's nothing more than their typical sleazy rumor mongering.partytime1667 wrote:Wow, might be worth it to let him go elsewhere...GoDucksTroll wrote:Weird stuff, if true:Duckenstein wrote:From sane thread, USC recruiting sites are reporting that USC dropped Steele because Scott Schrader gave him money. There are insiders on the USC site that believe Chris is just wanting to be courted again as he loves the recruitment process. They also believe he will be a Trojan. I am of the guess (I can't say belief because I am purely speculating) that he will likely end up at Florida. Either way, they are ALL down on Helton.

Anything new on him... Does Oregon really want a prima donna like him if any truth to what the USC people are saying. Not sure how much can believe the USC guys. It might be like hearing a recruit saying Oregon is their dream school and then never visits.

Yup, that’s the way it is in today’s world. Guilty until proven innocent by an Internet fan base opinion jury not of your peers. All credible sources will not be listened to and will be labeled fake news

Sounds like he'll sign tomorrow but won't announce until Jan. 5th at the All-American Bowl. Not sure if Oregon is a real threat since reports are he was at USC this past weekend for an unofficial but he's currently trending towards Florida.
