Re: Chris Steele is not a done deal
A spot just magically appeared... How convenient.
"Norm Steele told ESPN that USC reached out to his son once a scholarship became available."
"It's been kind of fast," Norm Steele said of the process that led to his son choosing USC. "One thing I will say about [USC] is they are very honest and transparent. They're never going to tell you just anything, they have always been honest."
Guess that just about sums it up, eh?
Bru McCoy waiting for the magic moment, too?
Autzen Stadium... Where great teams go to die...Hard!

Re: Chris Steele is not a done deal
Steele said that his family having to pay for travel is what led to his decision.
And to be fair to USC, we still need to process 1 guy and would have had to process 2 to get Steele in so we aren’t any better in that regard.

Don't know USC's current status at cb, but there was no way he would have started this year for us at cb.

It is a matter of principle though. To fill out all the paperwork for financial aid and to enroll in classes and then turn around and stab the school in the back is about as low as one can go. Zero respect for Steele and zero respect for USC. USC has always ben dirty though. This does not change any opinion of them. They been scum since I was a kid and still are

100% agree, this is super shady. Given the way Steele has handled Oregon and how he's trying to cover up his inability to commit as if he's making some moral right choice makes me wonder what really happened at Florida. Maybe the excitement of him coming to Oregon caused some of us, including me, to not look at that situation objectively. And regarding USC, yeah, there's some shady things going on there, there always has been but it's becoming more apparent.GoDucksIn09 wrote:It is a matter of principle though. I 100% agree with this. The excitement of getting such a blue chip addition late clouded my judgment as well. I wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth, but the stuff coming from Florida fans is that Steele never requested a room transfer.OregonFan4Life wrote:100% agree, this is super shady. Steele's ticket to a waiver is 'getting out of a bad situation' just like Justin Fields used the slut excuse to say Georgia was hostile and he needed to go to Ohio State. Justin Fields' sister then went to UGA to play softball. Steele will probably get a waiver.
If we did send him a playbook as rumored, then that is a dumb move by the coaches.

I thought it was because of an alleged slur, didn't know UGA Slut shamed him too.GoDucksTroll wrote:I 100% agree with this. Give the guy a break. His mother lost her job and he wants to be close to home so his family can come see him play.GoDucksIn09 wrote:It is a matter of principle though. Oregon has a playbook? Was this a new thing they added this year?GoDucksTroll wrote:

Re: Chris Steele is not a done deal
You know there is this modern thing called a television if he really wanted his family to watch him play. Maybe Chris and his family haven't heard of it. Besides, when one gets laid off, they can receive unemployment compensation, and I'm sure she'll be able to find another job if she really wanted to. Also, flights between LA and Eugene are dirt cheap a lot of the time. I feel like this is just him validating this move when in reality, there's something else going on that really reeks. The whole mom losing her job and convenient timing for a spot opening up for a highly rated recruit just seems off to me.duckduckgoose wrote:Give the guy a break. I dont like knocking recruits but something seems very off here.OregonFan4Life wrote:You know there is this modern thing called a television if he really wanted his family to watch him play. I was happy we got him but worried about drama, especially after reports of how many teams he had committed to. Now it seems like drama won't be an us thing. Ok.
