In the opener, Oregon beats Houston, 4-2. now 6-0 for the season.

Mya Felder, go ahead home run Ariel Carlson, insurance run double in the 6th.

Oregon run rules Dayton, 18-3, now, 7-0. The Ducks scored 11 in the 4th to blow it open. Kind of surprising, only 9 hits. McGowan & Carlson had home runs. Cid scored 4 times, Carlson & Cruse, 3 times. Carlson had 3 RBI. Brooke Yanez gets the win, now 4-0.

Oregon gets the 9-4 win over Houston in their final game of the day. After Houston tied it at 4 in the 3rd inning, Oregon got HRs from Cid, Felder, Wong, and Cruse to put the game out of reach.

I have no idea how good these teams are that the Ducks are beating, but it is nice to see them win regardless. Next week might provide more of an indication of where this team is at since they will face Northwestern, who is currently tied with the Ducks in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches rankings (#21).

Last year, it was all Jordan Dail in the circle. This year, Brooke Yanez is 4-0, Samaria Diaz, 4-0, Jordan Dail, 1-0.

McGowan, Carlson, Cid, and Felder have power. Carlson is a strange case; 1.85 avg but 4th slg % 519, 3rd in RBI 9, 2nd in extra base hits; all of her hits have been extra bases 2HR 3 2b. When she picks up the avg, that 4 will be awesome. Sievers looks like she might be coming out of slump. Pitching is obviously better, but the PAC-12 is toughest conference. OU lost to Long Beach State, so the PAC-12 may have the 1,2,and 3 teams next week.

Hope that isn't an indication of arm fatigue for Dail. Thought she was overworked last year. But I guess Lombardy knows what she's doing?

I will looked at the positive; that Lombardi does know what's she's doing; getting Dail some time off and winning while new pitchers get experience.
