Oregon SB gets 2-seed in Austin Regional
Oregon SB got absolutely hosed by the NCAA Tournament selection as they got stuck in the Austin Regional as a 2-seed and #21 overall team rather than as a host in Eugene. Oregon finished in the top-16 in RPI and SOS. Teams that finished below Oregon in the conference standings, ASU and Arizona, both got to host. As a whole, Pac-12 got screwed as UW, which has been a top-10 all season, got put at the 16th overall seed, behind ASU and Arizona.

did they say why UW got hosed so bad when they were a top ten team all year?

And of course they are in love with the SE conference. Like usual the PAC will send 3-4 teams to WCWS and UCLA will totally dominate. No way they are not far the best team in NCAA.

Rhetorical question. But thanks to Larry Scotts' genius marketing plans and decision making, we're (Pac-12) a second thought in college sports in all matters...StevensTechU wrote:What a joke. How can you screw up that badly?

Agreed, the Pac-12 and west coast as a whole is an afterthought in sports. I'm not surprised by this at all and expect it to continue to happen unless Kliavkoff can fix what Scott ruined.nogerO wrote:Rhetorical question. While UW got screwed the most in the raw seeding, they still got a regional. Oregon though not as screwed by as many spots as UW got the worse result by being under-seeded out of a regional.
While UCLA lost a couple more games then Oklahoma very few people who follow SB have the Okies ahead of them. Apparently though, those very few are all on the seeding committee.

All valid points...
But the simpler explanation may be this Southern Region weighting

Too many advocates for the Southern region to balance the bids, 4 out of 7 designated regional reps are SE or South. BRUTAL.

Re: Oregon SB gets 2-seed in Austin Regional
So Mike White thinks Oregon's seeding was bullshirt and was a political match-up to draw interest and audience. He things Texas was screwed to get what should have been a host team in their regional, and Oregon got screwed by not getting to host their own regional.
