Good news vs bad news

Post by gofightingducks »

Brandon over on Rivals started a thred this morning before the Grant news broke that the Ducks had bad news coming but also had good news and that the good news would far outweigh the bad. There is speculation that the good news is a better replacement for Grant at the RB position. Possibly Seastrunk as he has visited? Lattimore could be a possibility but he hasn't visited yet.

If it is indeed a stud running back, then I can live with Grant leaving. :D

Oh not at all.

The fact that the guy from Rivals said that the good news far outweighs the bad news(Grant) is pretty impressive. Ethan Grant was a solid back, so an improvement should be something to get excited about!

If the coaches let Grant know about another commit, his de-commitment could certainly be a reaction to it. Honestly, unless you are a top 5 back you would be really worried about getting playing time behind James. LaMichel is just tooo good! Lets hope the good news is Seastrunk as a silent, but if not, Williams is going to be dynamite here as well....
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

My gut tells me that the good news isn't necessarily a different RB commit.

My source just said Chip is officially back!
It will be announced at Autzen press conference tomorrow afternoon!

Yeah, I don't see one of the other top rb's commiting yet. Maybe it's someone like Mathis or Hemuli.

I think the good news that Rivals is reporting is different from DT's. Matt and Justin just said that Lattimore has taken North Carolina out of the mix, so that is good news for the Ducks because he was going to visit them after us.
