Awesome, congrats Isaac and welcome!

It says he's a RS-Soph. Does that mean he only has 2 to play 2?

Now the question on all our minds...Can he also play DT? :D

3 years to play 2. Most likely convert to DT.

The 6-6, 265 pound defensive end visited this past weekend with defensive back Alfred Bowden. The junior college player from Phoenix College told the Aggieville blog that he's now down to Utah State and the University of Central Florida.

Remington has told UTEP and Georgia State that they're out of the running for his services. He's getting interest from Oregon, but said, "Just because they're Oregon doesn't mean that I'm going to pick them. They came in really late."

Isaac Remington

Valley Christian

Oregon sent Remington a letter when he was a sophomore and only 6-1 and 180 pounds. Now he's 6-6 and 240 pounds and coming off a season in which he produced 14 sacks, two blocked punts and an interception.

Recruiters, however, still weren't offering visits.

"I got letters from Arizona, ASU, Northern Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State, (Nevada-Las Vegas), Boise State, Idaho and Washington State," Remington said. "I used to get calls on my cellphone every Saturday or Sunday. I went to an Oregon camp, and I got an award for being the best linemen there. But all of a sudden before (this) season, everyone stopped calling.

"I messed up with my grades my sophomore year and I think that's what happened. I'm probably going to end up going to junior college for one year, then go to a (NCAA Division I) school. I know I can play at the D-I level."

We seem like we're going to be taking a lot of DL this class. Remington makes it 2 DL with Curtis White possibly being one, depending on if we get another TE in this year's class. We still have Owa and King at DE on the board and Easley, Heimuli, and Werner at DT. I say we get King and Werner and take a couple other lower level people to fill out the class here. This class is really going to be defense-heavy. There aren't a whole lot of offensive players being talked about lately in this class.

Definitely seems to me like the ducks are going after several "diamonds in the rough". Hopefully they close with a strong class. Maybe my expectations for recruiting are just too high, or maybe the results will even be better next time around because of the pac-10 champions/rose bowl.

yeah, even after two yrs of JC he was only 2nd team all-league. If he were impressive at the JC level UA and ASU would have been all over him.

Isaac Remington will be a good backup and Scout team player though, can never have enough of those guys.

why so many assumptions about a guy who you've never seen play a down of football and someone you didn't even knew existed more than 3 hours ago?

This is a great pickup, imo. Again, I have trust in our coaching staff, and the coaches loved what they saw when he camped in Eugene as a high schooler.

Oftentimes the greatest players are those who nobody sees coming.
