Oregon has hired former Oregon TE Koa Ka'ai as an offensive analyst who'll mainly work with the TEs and RBs.

I do not remember him. Either he didn’t play much or I’m getting older than I’m ready to admit.greenyellow wrote:Oregon has hired former Oregon TE Koa Ka'ai as an offensive analyst who'll mainly work with the TEs and RBs.

He played during the Mariota years as mainly a blocking TE after being moved over from DL his RS FR year.

He was actually a pretty good player, but Oregon had 3 NFL guys about the same time (Pharaoh Brown, Johnny Mundt, and Evan Baylis).DuckMastaFunk wrote: I do not remember him. Either he didn’t play much or I’m getting older than I’m ready to admit.

He was a strong backup, but the other guys were more physically gifted, IIRC.

We’ve added more analysts than I ever thought was possible. The combined salaries of those guys have to add up to a decent amount. Which is good to see, that’s what programs like Georgia are doing with giant lists of staffers.

As a Rams fan, he reminds me a lot of Sean Mcvay but he is on the defense. I'm one that thinks DeRuyter was a great defensive coach, but I think Lanning will be a step up from him.

For anyone interested, Lanning did an interview with Stewart Mandel and Bruce Feldman on their podcast "The Audible". It was a good listen on what he is looking to build and how the staff came to be
