Urban Leaving for Health and Mack Brown
It's too bad that Urban has to leave the program from health reasons, but I wish the best of luck to him , his family, and the state of Florida. Also , you can wonder if Mack Brown would decide to look elsewhere. I know he wanted to visit Oregon at one point in time. Guys is a natural talent and will be in the NFL someday!

1. this isn't recruiting news.

It affects recruiting because of Brown. The thread in Kelly's Heroes has nothing to do with Brown.duckgrad99 wrote:1. this isn't recruiting news.

Re: Urban Leaving for Health and Mack Brown
it was rumored that Brown might have been looking around prior to this news. i know that he said in sept that he hoped to visit oregon as one of his 5 visits but ended up choosing florida over georgia before taking all his visits. its a dead period now, but if he did decide to decommit and we got him up to eugene for a visit, we'd have a solid chance imo. i'd love to throw him in the mix with latts and lache and hope we land 1 of them

Re: Urban Leaving for Health and Mack Brown
The only saving grace for Florida recruiting may be if they can make a big-time hire before the dead period ends...
Then again, Stanford lost few, if any, commits while deciding who to hire after Walt Harris left, eventually hiring Harbaugh.
Florida is obviously a much more storied program than Stanford, so who knows?

I have a feeling that they wont see many if any commits drop them.. This is not a program on the fence, they will be just fine im sure!

Let's hope that next big time hire isn't Chip Kelly.

Re: Urban Leaving for Health and Mack Brown
Yep Mack Brown was rumored to be interested in Oregon. With Meyer leaving, that can only help our chances. Like quackattack said, hopefully he openings things up and visits.quackattack wrote:it was rumored that Brown might have been looking around prior to this news. i know that he said in sept that he hoped to visit oregon as one of his 5 visits but ended up choosing florida over georgia before taking all his visits. its a dead period now, but if he did decide to decommit and we got him up to eugene for a visit, we'd have a solid chance imo. i'd love to throw him in the mix with latts and lache and hope we land 1 of them

Re: Urban Leaving for Health and Mack Brown
So we are now holding our breath for....
Lattimore #1RB
Seastrunk #2RB
Brown #5RB
Possibly another unnamed 4* RB on the east coast that is committed to another school...
And that is only our RB class, we still get to hold out hope for
Easley
King
Owa
Mathis
and others....
This should be a pretty exciting finish. I wonder if we will end up landing any of the big name RB's....

Re: Urban Leaving for Health and Mack Brown
honestly, I think I am happy with 2 or more of these guys. After all the drama the past couple of years I am holding out hope (although not holding my breath) for more than 2.karlhungis wrote:So we are now holding our breath for....

I wonder if Urban stepping down puts us back in play for Ivan McCartney?
