Well traveled young man!
Initially committed to play college football at Miami. He later flipped his commitment to Florida. Shortly before he was set to enroll for Florida's 2023 spring semester, Rashada requested a release from his National Letter of Intent. Rashada ultimately enrolled at Arizona State, where his father had played. Rashada transferred to Georgia on April 25, 2024.

Greed like this will kill NIL. Donors will stop paying guys start suing them, then where will we be?

Dude is really asking for a lot, considering he hasn't done much of anything yet. Wasn't Oregon high on Rashada's list, but they wouldn't pay him enough?

Not really the point. He agreed to something, fulfilled his part, then didn't receive payment. What he did later at another school is irrelevant.

I actually see this as a big advantage for Oregon... not that greed will kill NIL, but that Oregon will have a massive advantage over schools with half-assed NIL operations. I've read several accounts of Oregon's Division Street collective being second-to-none in terms of its professionalism.Greed like this will kill NIL. Donors will stop paying guys start suing them, then where will we be?

Not saying it is, nor am I disagreeing, but the schools need to understand that throwing a ton of money at a kid that hasn't done much of anything is going backfire more often than not, especially in cases like this where the kid really wants his $17 millionStevensTechU wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2024 9:08 pmNot really the point. He also agreed to $8.5 mill with Miami then backed out on them. So he/mostly his dad, aren’t totally innocent here.StevensTechU wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2024 9:08 pmNot really the point. The system incentives jumping teams every year to maximize NIL deals.ICamel wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2024 3:47 pm Well traveled young man!

Honestly getting contracts from the team that have penalties for transferring need to come in to stop this one year free agency every year. Its bad for stability.

Have you looked at the state of college football lately? Stability isn't a thing. Only money matters

Re: Jaden Rashada suing Florida for nearly $14 mil
Thats the point in getting at, there is a potential to find stability in the chaos of the new system. Actual bindi g contracts. Like NBA contracts, but with two years term with two one one year mutual options after that

Wonder if the ncaa can slow the transfers down by paying players to stay put with extra incentives? Interesting thing, Lanning said UO has not lost a starter to the portal

Re: Jaden Rashada suing Florida for nearly $14 mil
If money is involved, it kind of feels a little bit like that would be paying a player to continue attending a specific school. That said, the rules are in such a state of flux right now that that logic could easily be dismissed too.buckmarkduck wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 8:06 pm Wonder if the ncaa can slow the transfers down by paying players to stay put with extra incentives? Maybe something like 1st time transfers there's no penalty, anything after the new school they would be attending only has to pay half

Re: Jaden Rashada suing Florida for nearly $14 mil
I'd rather not venture into those waters. Oregon (and other schools) have benefited mightily from the transfer rules, and the last thing I want to see is another generation of the SEC finding ways to stockpile all the 5* talent. Unfettered transfers puts pressure on schools to keep PSAs happy, and that's a huge advantage for programs like Oregon that are genuinely invested in their players' lives.Maybe something like 1st time transfers there's no penalty, anything after the new school they would be attending only has to pay half
