Supreme Cook gets into the game early in the 1st half and gets 3 rebounds in under 3 minutes of play.

Ducks playing way better today, though I’m sure Altman is furious at how the half ended.

I love that I’m seeing from Supreme Cook and Barthelemy is shooting great right now!

Ducks with a 15 point halftime lead 38-23.
Dana won't be happy about the 3-point attempts from his Ducks. 13 of 31 shots from beyond the arc with only 4 made. Barthelemy 3-3 and Angel 1 of 2. Beyond that, Tracey 0 of 4, Shelstad 0 for 3, Bamba round it out at 0 of 1.

Pet-peeve but if you're going to let the students learn how to do broadcast PxP in these early season games, make them do a friggin halftime show with recap and analysis. And here they come...lol

Why do college basketball refs think they need to call a millions fouls the last 5 minutes of the game?

That was a much better effort than the Portland game. The offense and defense were much crisper and focused. Some really balanced scoring with 5 guys in double figures. They do need to find a way to get Shelstad going as it was another quiet outing for him. Liked what I saw out of Supreme Cook in his first game as a Duck. Definitely need to play like this again against the Beavs this Thursday.

Yeah very balanced offensively. Defense played well most the game, but allows too many easy baskets from mistakes.

It’s still early.

Troy is a bad team. That being said, this ducks team has a couple things going for it that we haven't had since the Pritchard days:

1. High IQ players
2. Defensive cohesion this early in the season.

I'm not sure #2 is that big of a deal because we always seem to get it together before season's end, but maybe it'll allow us to focus more on getting our offensive side down pat.

What I'd like to see on offense:
1. More fast break.
2. Use Bamba in post and elbows often.
3. Use Shelstead/Bittle in iso pick n rolls.

What I'd like to see less of:
1. Bamba initiating offense.

Lastly, Supreme Cook looks like a supreme rebounder. However, on initial look, I am afraid he is a poor defender. If that's the case, I don't feel awful about that because of the varying skillset of our 3 bigs (Kwame/Bittle/Cook).

Troy was only down by a basket with a 11 minutes left against #18 Arkansas.

I agree Troy isn’t a good team but they can still compete.
