If the football team doesn't get the attention that their success warrants, same is true but even more so of the men's basketball team. I'd compare us to Wisconsin at this point, where you can almost lock in the team for 22+ wins and should warrant top 25 consideration.73duck wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 7:42 am Seeing a trend here. Quality depth (about a half dozen or more veteran blue chippers) plus superior coaching equals clutch play down the stretch. I have no idea why this team is not ranked, although that will change if they win the next game (SD State hammered Creighton). Don't turn off the TV if UO trails in the second half.

Very nice win! Still lots of pieces that Altman is trying to make work together, but the results are good so far. Looks like the Ducks are #28 in KenPom (https://kenpom.com/index.php?s=RankAdjOE) but only #59 in NET (https://www.cbssports.com/college-baske ... kings/net/) after this game.
Regarding Mookie, I seem to recall that Altman sort of "warned" everyone preseason that it's been a while (because of his injuries) since he's played organized basketball and that we shouldn't expect a whole lot of PT, at least early on. I was at the Montana game and liked what I saw of Mookie and would like to see more of him. But I think we all know by now how Altman tends to settle on a (somewhat limited) rotation and it seems like it's difficult for other players to break into that.

Mookie reminds me a lot of pre-Boise Kigab. High energy, but needs to harness it and learn where to be on defense. Can be a nice boost of energy off the bench at the moment if needed, but not yet ready to relied upon in the regular rotation. Hopefully he sticks around for next year. Kigab would have been great to have his last couple of years.

Angel was huge. He played an all around great game.
The offense was good all night.
Bamba starting to step into his role.
Everyone knows their role on offense which is rare because of our amount of transfers and how early it is in the season.
This team is good.
