Cardiac Kids, great effort in the 2nd half. Bittle and Shelstad were ridiculous. They must love the stress. I don’t.

lol, no kidding. Angel, Tracy, and Evans with only one FG each. That's just not gonna get it done for us generally. We got a little lucky hitting 4 of our last 5 3-point shots. That really was the difference.Everythingsducky wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 6:21 pm Cardiac Kids, great effort in the 2nd half. Bittle and Shelstad were ridiculous. They must love the stress. I don’t.

Ducks shot 29% from the field in the 1st half, 58% in the 2nd half.

I certainly don't mind that it's the Buckeyes that we just beat on the road. No, it doesn't "make up" for anything. But it's something.

Was at the game, and after the football iteration last week, I couldn’t have showed up with a worse attitude. The game was generally miserable until there was about two minutes left. We looked slow and disorganized on both ends, missed so many open 3’s, Bittle was awful in the post, constantly out of position on D and receiving the ball a mile from the basket on O. We’re just really short on athletes on this team.
All that said, Shelstad was a full grade above anyone else on the court tonight. There’s a fluidity to his game that I’ve not seen in green since Dillon Brooks.
And props to Bittle for hitting big shots when they counted.
While this team has a very real athletic ceiling, there’s still some unrealized talent if they can find a rhythm on offense. Angel has been the most confusing to me. The talent is clearly there on offense, but he seems real gun shy right now. If he or Bamba can break through and become a consistent 3rd option, these guys can take the big 10.
One last thing.
I was at the 2021 and 2024 regular season football games and this bball game. I missed 2010, 2014, and 2024 post season football games. So either Oregon can only beat OSU in the regular season or I’m their rabbit’s foot. If anyone wants to fly me around the country to test this out, I’m here for it.

Angel has looked out of sorts since we've got into the heart of our Big Ten schedule. I think he will be the key to our success.whosyourwally wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 8:48 pm Was at the game, and after the football iteration last week, I couldn’t have showed up with a worse attitude. Guys like Tracey and Bamba are not gonna be reliable week to week. But if we can get Angel to be that 3rd scoring option to Bittle/Shelstad, that would go a long way!

I cheated and didn't watch the game until it was over and I knew the score. Not in the mood for stress until we get at least 10 hours of daylight and we can get a sunny day without a cold East wind.Everythingsducky wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 6:21 pm Cardiac Kids, great effort in the 2nd half. This has often become my practice as well. I'm not sure why, but I don't enjoy tight, back-and-forth games like I used to.GrandpaDuck wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 11:57 amI cheated and didn't watch the game until it was over and I knew the score.
