It feels like we will see Oregon becoming more of a intraconference powerhouse in spring sports just due to the move from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten.
Already, the men's and women's indoor track teams won the conference, which bodes well for the spring outdoor season. Oregon's women won or were runner up in the Pac-12 every year since 2009, so no surprise there. This is the first men's title since 2022, and the primary competition going forward will be the former Pac schools (namely USC and uw).
In softball, the Big Ten has just two top 25 teams - #4 UCLA and #14 Oregon. Former Pac schools Arizona and Stanford are in the top 25, but no legacy Big Ten schools.
In baseball, Oregon is the only ranked team in the conference at #10. Former Pac school Oregon State is in the top ten, as well, and schools like ASU, Stanford, and Arizona have won national championships (as have UCLA and USC, who are here with us). The last time a legacy B1G school won it all was 1964, from what I can tell.
Final women's golf rankings in 2024 had Oregon at #3, USC #4, Northwestern #10, Michigan State #21, and UCLA #25. Former conference foes Stanford was #1, ASU was #8, and Arizona was #18.
Men's golf, a similar story. Oregon was #39 last year, per Scoreboard's rankings, with only #12 Illinois, #27 Northwestern and #38 Purdue ahead of us. However, the Pac-12 last year had #3 ASU, #10 Utah, #15 UCLA, #17 Arizona, #33 Colorado, and then us.

Re: Big Ten Spring Sports
I watch a bit of Softball (not a big fan of Lombardi), almost no baseball (I used to watch a lot of MLB, I didn't make a conscious decision to quit but a few years ago I noticed that I had stopped watching.) I will watch T & F at times and I follow the results even if I miss watching the actual meet.
I'm doing this evaluation of what I watch because I am deciding whether to cancel the B1G network and App after BB season. Looks like I probably will. Come fall I will definitely sign up for the App but probably will skip the cable package as I barely needed it.
