His buyout is $20M, that’s still high. I’m not worried, Dan doesn’t strike me as a snake oil salesman, he’s happy in Eugene, has all of the resources to succeed and be the town hero by bringing us our first natty, and he’s fully aware how damn green the grass is in Eugene.
Personally the only two jobs that would worry me if they opened up is Georgia which I’d say 20% chance he’d leave Oregon for and the Kansas City Chiefs, which I’d say 50% chance he leaves for. Hard to say no to your childhood team. Every other team in both college and NFL I say <5% chance he’d leave Oregon for.

I can't imagine him leaving for KC. The NFL is a different game than college in so many ways, as some great college coaches have learned. He'd go from being in complete control of all player and personnel decisions to having to answer to a GM and an Owner.
In addition, one of his greatest skills is recruiting and being likeable. Those mean nothing in the NFL. You have to sit down with a GM and basically have them make the final decisions on who you're going have on your team through the draft and free agency.
After so many have tried and failed, I don't see nearly as many college coaches going to the pros as they used to.

I agree with every other NFL team, but he grew up in KC and that was his favorite team growing up. I just imagine it would be tough to turn down your childhood favorite team in your hometown.
