Oregon, Oregon State to resume rivalry in 2028

Post by greenyellow »

Oregon and Oregon State have agreed to 4 future games, starting in 2028. If only they'd officially bring the Civil War name back too after jettisoning it in 2020.

Kinda disappointed the Beavers get 2 home games, all four games should be in Autzen IMO.

Totally agree, garbage we have to go to Reser twice. Not that we'll likely ever lose to them anytime soon, but if there was ever a chance it would be when they host.

If we ever lose to them again, I might actually start to wonder if Lanning is the right guy for the job.

But since that won’t happen, the game itself is totally unnecessary. Seems like it could end up being a cheap shot fest by the bitter beavs at some point.

I don't understand why people hate this. It's an easy opponent with many of the advantages of a home game, including financial advantages. Regarding bitterness, I don't think most players these days care about rivalries the same way fans do, especially in the NIL era of heavy roster turnover. These guys aren't with teams long enough to hate other teams.

This definitely isn't the Civil War of years past, but it makes sense and maybe someday, if college football rediscovers its soul, we'll be thankful that we didn't let this fall completely by the wayside.

I don't think people mind playing the Beavs every year. But half the games shouldn't be in Reser.

Agree. Hate that we are playing them on the road. Play it at home one year and wsu the next at home. They don’t deserve the money from a home game. Especially after all the crying they have done.
