Jordon Davison out 6-8 weeks Edit: He's not injured
Suffered an injury that will keep him out til week 4-6 of the season, reported by Zachary Neel.
Edit: injury appears to be a broken collarbone again, not sure if it’s the same one he injured in the Orange Bowl.
Just your typical Oregon fall camp.

If it wasn't for bad luck, we wouldn't have no luck at all. This sucks.

Wow, that is some foul luck. Hope he comes back okay.
Have we heard how Tradarian Ball is doing so far? I don't know what the chances of a true freshman getting a lot of run are, but he sure seemed like a great prospect. I wonder who comes in after Hill now.

I'd be more concerned if what's-his-face from last season was still our OC.
I'm going to believe that his replacement will say, "Hey wait a minute, we have a stud QB and a ton of stud receivers and a stud TE" and throw the ball all over the field for easy catches and scores.

Willie Taggart is a dick.

Rats! So the new guys will be getting reps. May they be most excellent.

I could see them doing a RB by committee behind Hill until someone stands out while also leaning heavily on the passing game with Moore and the deep WR/TE corps.

FWIW, most have Da'Jaun Riggs listed as third (now 2nd) on the depth chart. Last year preseason, J Stew (and others) predicted that he was the next leader in the RB group. He was supposed to be 'the guy' last year. I don't know if that was based on his talent or not yet knowing what the 2 freshman brought to the table. My guess is a bit of both. If he is healthy and has progressed at all, he should be a more than serviceable #2 and there is time to develop the depth behind him. Next man up!

Re: Jordon Davison out 6-8 weeks
That would be great news (if it not as bad as first thought).
Davison is so good in short yardage and his burst in traffic in-between the tackles with his size IMO is already borderline elite. I believe collarbone injuries in sports are expected to be one of the safest and most recoverable sports related injuries, as long as they are given a couple months to fully heal (the healed bone is often as strong or stronger then the original bone)?
It would be a real downer if this were to become a lingering issue. Without him, there are still guys for that role, but elite probably becomes "hopefully pretty good"? On 4th and short or inside the 5, he opens up so many options, as he is always when lined up, a legit threat for a carry.

Everyone can breathe a big sigh of relief as Davison is still practicing and was even doing tackling drills.

Re: Jordon Davison out 6-8 weeks
Samples never said he isn’t injured, just that he practiced his butt off. In reality we have no idea and probably won’t know for a day or two. He could be 100% fine or he could’ve gotten injured and they’ll need to take x rays to determine the severity in which case no way Lanning would let anyone on staff leak that he’s injured.

You think he would practice if he were injured? C'mon, they’re not risking anything. He would be held out as a precaution.
