Yeah defense is a major issue for sure, Hampton ain’t cutting it, but offense to me is even worse. Offense is a disjointed mess.

Re: PLEASE NO MEHRINGER LANNING!
I don't like the toss plays to the running backs. It leaves room for error when it's not necessary. Just hand the ball off and eliminate that risk.
I'm also concerned about both sides in the trenches. We have adequate talent to be good on the O-Line. There's no reason for us to be pushed around like that.
One team that Okie State's defense did remind me of yesterday...Indiana. They brought pressure up the middle, they brought it around both ends and they seriously slowed the run. We may see that more this year.
The defense is one of the most talented in the country, at least, on paper. How can that monster D-Line continue to get manhandled like this? I don't blame it all on Hampton. Again, I think it may have something to do with how Indiana had success against us.
I think not having Johnson available at TE had a major impact on the Ducks. They missed his pass catching, of course, but they missed his blocking more.
All they can do now is move forward and take things one game at a time.
A 10-2 or even a 9-3 Oregon team could still make the playoffs. Let's say the Ducks lost a second game somewhere along the way, as well as Ohio State, but beat Ohio State in the Big-12 championship game. Running the table the rest of the way and losing the Big-12 championship game would still probably get us on.
The good news is that we still control our own destiny. At least, for now.

I was willing to give Dan the benefit of the doubt. But Drew sucks He takes a half to figure out that we need to score to win games. Should have hired a 30 other guys instead of Drew. I’m hoping there is a way we can make a change or add a coach as a “consultant”, who can tell him what players to run. Ohio state made a change at DC mid year after we beat them. I’m thinking we will need to do the same. And if the D doesn’t figure its stuff out asap, it will be time for Lanning to hire a DC and let him run the D the way he wants.

I'm reading all these fan sites and still can't really watch anything until after my surgery but I really hope that they don't lay an egg against Portland State. I don't want a win by 50, I want a win first and to fix issues that the coaches found in this week's practice. I am hoping it is just Lanning not opening the play book during OOC games and once B1G play starts, we pick up the tempo. If we can go into the heart of the schedule from October through end of November and improve, I will be happy.

Also I remember hearing it's been a LONG time since a team won a championship with new coordinators. So even if Hampton and Mehringer are gonna be good coordinators, it was lofty expectations to think we would win a natty in both of their first year's at Oregon.
Not trying to make excuses, but we also want to be realistic. With that being said, the OK State game was one of the worst games in the last couple decades.
