it'll be interesting to see what they look like after having Altman retire on them. Doubt we learn too much though.

Lost by 6 to Seattle U and had 25 turnovers?! Not a confidence builder for sure.

Ducks drop their exhibition game 71-65 after losing a 13-point 2nd half lead due to 25 total turnovers. Kind of to be expected with a brand new team and interim coach.

I don’t know what’s worse, the offensive line or Oregon basketball.
This team can’t play defense, can’t handle the ball, can’t rebound, full of guys that have tunnel vision for the hoop and can’t handle the ball or shoot. This looked like a team that probably won’t win a single game in B1G play. Fred Payne, Tyrone Riley, and Jasper Johnson look like they belong in D2 basketball. I’m sure this team will get better, but there’s a really low ceiling with this roster.
I did like what I saw overall from Aristode and Wei Lin plays with some fire but he’s a ballhog. Bowen has athleticism but he’s so awkward and kinda flails around too much, he needs to learn how to handle his length and athleticism. Rest of the roster is just, meh. The lack of height will be a huge problem this season.
Tony Stubblefield looks lost and has no energy. Random nonsensical rotations and when the refs were awful didn’t get in their ears. I know this is an exhibition but not a promising start for him. If he’s Oregon’s coach next year then maybe Rob Mullens needs to go, cause Oregon has to get better, someone young with energy and promise.

There's almost no way Stubbs gets the job as Oregon has too much money to settle for someone like him.

Always nice to know that I can be cheered up by a post from OF4L
!
I wonder if Altman could be second guessing his statement that he's not the best person for the HC job this year and/or that Stubblefield is, even if Altman doesn't have the energy for the job that he'd like to have.

This team played streetball last night. Looked like a group of guys that had never met, playing a pickup game together. Probably the worst basketball Oregon has played since the tail end of the Kent era.
Compton looked good, but he’s clearly an undersized big. Doubt he looks as good when the opposition is over 6’5. Aristode and Meadow showed some flashes, but also looked lost most of the time. After that, things looked pretty bleak. This is probably the worst backcourt I’ve ever seen at Oregon, and I’ve been a diehard fan since I was a kid in the late 90s. Fred Payne in particular looked really, really bad. If the plan is to start him at the point this season, I don’t know how much I’ll be able to stomach watching. I don’t know what the alternative is, though. There’s just not much to feel hopeful/excited about.

Seems understandable why Coach Altman looked at the job in front of him and bailed. Starting with less and less every year finally got to him. Hopefully they can find a coach with some energy and vision.
