Extremely encouraging from a program standpoint. Loved that last play by Raiola. Terrible fundamentals but made a play to win the game. Felt like a microcosm of the whole game: loosen up, take risks, and just go make plays.

It was night and day from Mehringer calling plays. Guys were getting open and Roila was hitting them. I almost didn't watch it, but my wife insisted on getting Peacock because it's free with her Walmart membership. I'm so glad I did.
Ohio State's looking vulnerable against USC right now. Another win against them and we could finish strong with games remaining against Minnesota, Michigan and UW.

"Yeah, no, I felt really confident that they would be committed to running the football and pushing the ball downfield with the talented athletes they have on the perimeter. You saw that on the last touchdown with the short play off the play action.” Braun said.
"There were some little wrinkles that we certainly had to adjust to. You've got to give their coaching staff a lot of credit for having a good plan. Defensively, I also feel like we'll walk away from this game knowing we missed opportunities.” Braun continued.
First time we’ve heard that this season.

At least the Ohio State game has potential to be more interesting.
Nice win for ducks tonight!

Still can't believe Oregon won that game after going down 2 TDs. Great adjustments by the offense and defense in the 2nd half to finally push the ball down the field and stop Northwestern's offense. Not sure what to expect now in Columbus next week given how OSU played at USC tonight.

Commentators mentioned how much the Ducks went to max protection, way more than usual. When you have the receivers they have, why the f*ck would you leverage trick sh*t, and just trust your strong point? Hate piling on, but…

Thank God we didn't decide to throw in the towel and play Akili.

I had no faith in our QB or the O line. I am pleased to be wrong.

Going to pat myself on the back here. This game was exactly what I wanted to see. Just go out there and play your game. Stop playing scared. Raiola will never be confused with Mariota or Nix, but when he gets into a rhythm he can be dangerous. We need to continue to just let his play him game, good or bad. Lets see how the year turns out. Looking at the USC/Ohio State game, hell, this could get interesting.QuackininBama wrote: Tue Oct 27, 2026 3:29 pm I'm going to push back here just for the sake of argument.
Why don't we just let him be him? What have we got to lose? Construct a game plan that just lets him run around like a madman and throw to whoever is open? In a way, we already saw it at USC.
We have already seen it multiple times in college. When you have the athletic advantage with a strong roster it can work. Hell, it isn't pretty but have we not seen it twice already not that long ago. Not one, but TWO Heismans, and they both did the same thing.
Johnny Manzil and Caleb Williams.
The entire gameplan was to run around like an idiot until someone came open. It only works in college, but it works, and we sure have the roster for it. We have 5*'s backing up 5*'s at reciever/tight end, so just let him be him.
I would sure rather lose with Raiola throwing for 455 yards, 4 touchdowns, 3 interceptions then lose 21-10 because "he wasn't playing within the system".
I got nothing else this year guys, the year is bust anyway, tell him to go out and be Patrick Mahomes then, it can't be worse then it is now. There is nothing left to lose this year.

Feel like we tried playing it safe yesterday until we couldn't afford to any longer. Loved seeing us finally protecting the QB and throwing the ball past the sticks. At some point, you have to stop playing it safe and start trying to score points. Hopefully this game gave the coaches the confidence to be a bit more aggressive from the jump heading into Ohio State. Raiola strikes me as a gamer. Give him one big completion, and suddenly he's like a completely different guy out there. We saw it against USC, against Nebraska, and again yesterday. Seems he's at his best when he's playing with gasoline.
Huge shout out to the defense for clamping down despite being on the field for most of the first half.

Willie Taggart is a dick.

Really like that the staff finally recognized that the OL was not going to be able to get the job done and started using max protection sets to give Raiola enough time and protection to make his throws accurately.

This is what i was saying. Mehringer clearly couldn’t adapt to the pieces he was given. Obviously if it’s an uphill battle to deal with our OL and our poor QB development, but he didn’t try to adjust at all. He did the same thing over and over.alxtw wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2026 8:13 pm Really like that the staff finally recognized that the OL was not going to be able to get the job done and started using max protection sets to give Raiola enough time and protection to make his throws accurately.
Refreshing to at least see our offense play to our strengths/weaknesses finally.
