My gut tells me Big Ern is gone after this weekend
Not sure why but I really believe the lame efforts of the Bay area trip will finally cost EK his job. The AD can't take a chance of the fan base growing even more apathetic and only putting 4-5k in the new arena.

I hope you're right. Since I'm not local, has there been a lot of talk about Kent in Portland, Eugene, etc?

We definitely need a change. He had two great seasons, but time to move on.

My heart hopes your right, my gut says he still has a shot to be back next year.
Just the way MB has been over the years with underachieving coaches.

If the AD was still Kilkenny, Kent would be gone for sure. With Bellotti, I think it's 50-50 that Kent is gone. As bad as I feel for Kent possibly not being able to coach in the new arena, he had every chance to coach there and didn't get the job done with the players he recruited.buckmarkduck wrote:My heart hopes your right, my gut says he still has a shot to be back next year.Just the way MB has been over the years with underachieving coaches.

MB won't can his buddy. Although money talks. Lets hope that the money and powers that are building that monstrosity will talk. If they want him out MB has to listen. People will not be drawn out by brick and motor. Oregon needs to field a competitive team. Kent has failed miserably of late. (unless we're playing Arkansas Pine-Bluff.. congrats Ern!)

I have a hard time believing that Bellotti will fire Kent. Who was the last coach that Bellotti fired from his staff? Stubler the DC in like 96? Bellotti is too nice of a guy to fire Kent unless Phil Knight or some other donors really push him.

If Belloti cannot get the memo about Kent at this point, I'll really be dissapointed in him.

Out of respect for what he's done here they'll wait til the end of the season to fire him. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets canned before that though. If he doesn't get fired at all he will definitely become a financial liability.
