No it's not ok, but sometimes it also takes a few years to rebuild a program after a change.

typically no one will transfer until they find out who's coming in as the replacement. then that coach will have the opportunity to sit down with each player and give them a good impression and how they might fit in his new style. some players will then accept the new coach while others may decide they'd rather play for someone else and transfer. however, you normally don't see guys who are jrs/srs transfer. the kid who'd worry me the most is jamil, since he'd only be a sophomore, he could transfer, sit out a year, and make the transition a lot easier than it would be for upperclassmen. but i think if i guy like tubby came in, we likely wouldn't lose many - if any - kids as long they feel comfortable with him

Yes except I think almost everyone on this team has their redshirt available and everyone will be junior/soph's. So that would give them 2 to 3 years somewhere else. Also since the core of our players are really close together... a mass exodus is very possible and would set our program back 3 to 4 years.

I think it's a very possible situation that we could lose several of the players who are close to each other. The main ones I could see losing are the Chicago trio or Teondre.

One coach that hasn't been brought up by anyone is Ben Jacobson from Northern Iowa. He's young (39), 4 winning records and has won two consecutive MVC titles. He may not have any name recognition among top recruits but I think he's someone to take a look at if they are considering an up-and-comer.

it'd be really hard for a group of players to transfer away and all go to the same school. you just don't have that kind of schollies available for jrs (hence the lack of juco recruiting in bball). unless the kids wanted to all go down a level together, there's not gonna be a max exodus where the chicago kids all go to play at say illinois - i'm not saying there's a 0% chance, but its very unlikely a school would sit on 3 or 4 scholarships for a year waiting for these kids to be eligible. and again, let's not assume they wanna leave until they know what coach is coming in. i'd be willing to bet the chicago kids & teondre would stay if the new coach was tubby or someone else who comes in and makes a good impression.

The only way everyone stays is if they get a big name coach to come in. If not and they are unsure of a unknown coach, players and possible recruits will go elsewhere.

recruits normally do, so guys with oregon on the radar (perhaps tjones) would def look elsewhere. players don't leave as often as you think in college bball. research some coaching changes and even big name or small name coaches come in, a majority of upperclassmen usually don't leave. the longer they're at a school, the more vested they become (academics, relationships, friendships, etc). thats why i said someone like jamil wilson who's only been here 1 year and is from wiscy would be the likeliest player to leave.

by the way, the chicago boys connection was through www to kenny payne, and there's talk that payne may be retained (which he should be bc of his recruiting connections), so don't forget about that either.

We may lose one or two current guys but there isn't going to be a mass exodus. All the new coach has to do is come in, sit down with each kid & pretty much recruit them to his system. Its not like these kids WANT to transfer, it would be so much easier for to stay & win with the new coach. Kids will only transfer if its their last option. Bring in a guy like Lavin or Tubby, or any decent winning coach & these kids would be happy to stay.

The report said he would be fired once the season is over so that makes sense. As soon as we bow out of the pac10 tourney the university will make it official.
