In local reports, it was stated that Kenny Payne may be retained. Payne is known behind the scenes for being a recruiting guru (and having a great relationship with World Wide Wes). Apparently, Payne attended a John Calipari coaching camp in 2004 (they were most likely introduced through Wes). There is talk that Payne could head to Kentucky to become one of Calipari's top assistants.
Oregon should take the money that they were paying Mike Dunlap and give it to Kenny Payne. The guy obviously has played a huge part in attracting top recruits to Oregon.

“If everybody in this room just want to be real with themselves, this game could have went either way,” he said. “We turned the ball over a lot. We beat ourself. Just be real with yourself right now. We beat ourself.”

Re: Kenny Payne
Payne's teammate & best friend (name slips my mind at the moment) when he played at louisville is/was best friends to wes, thats where their connection began. and yes, payne should def be retained and paid more if necessary bc of his recruiting connections. it appears rod strickland could be leaving kentucky's staff and payne would be an obvious choice to replace him. but remember that payne was offered a job as asst at kentucky last year as well and turned it down. circumstances are diff this time so we may not be as lucky

Re: Kenny Payne
I say we are going to lose Payne if Kent is indeed fired. He has too many connections to not be able to get a job at a major program.
