Now I know it's a lock... !

Missouri Basketball Coach Mike Anderson On The Run
"With the 2009-2010 season over, 50-year-old Anderson runs an average of 25 miles per day: jogging every morning from his home to his office. He can usually hitch a ride back home in the evening with one of his assistant coaches."
With Eugene, Oregon's reputation (Running Capitol of the World), this could be a mecca for Anderson!

Latest rumor is that he is meeting with his assistant coaches and finding out what they think about a possible move. Hope we can reel get him as a coach. And don't forget his UAB team ripped the heart out of Brandon Roy and the Huskies in the tourney when Roy was a JR.

Apparently Anderson has a great recruiting class coming into Missouri. If he does make the move to Oregon, I hope a couple of those recruits come with him. I think we might only have room for 1 or 2 though if the ducks get Terrence Jones.

Have his recruits signed LOIs? If they're signed, easier said than done.

Not expecting this to happen. From the sound of things, though coming primarily from Mizz sources, it's extremely unlikely that Anderson leaves. Great recruiting class; he's buddies with the father of the Pressey kids; just signed ext last year, etc. Bet we hear of MU reworking his contract, though probably not for much more $$, and the search continues.

Would be nice if he came here but I have a feeling that we won't hire a coach until we get a permanent AD first.

Re: PK Texas Meeting W/ Mike Anderson
Missou sources don't know anything if they did we would have had a denial from Anderson, yes, he could be looking for more money and is holding out for a better offer, but...... We have not gotten this far to ask the school's permission yet and at least two other coaches were offered the position and we never got to the point of asking the school to talk to the coach. Unfortunately he has not had his basketball banquet yet, Sunday night. So I am sure he would like to talk to his team and probably he would prefer to get through the banquet before an announcement is made. Obviously anything could still happen.

The odd thing is, Missouri forwarded a proposed announcement to him RE: Staying, and Anderson has not given the AD permission to release it as of noon today.
Not sure it will be real popular if fans perceive him to be "Messin' with their heads".

Re: PK Texas Meeting W/ Mike Anderson
By him doing that, it seems as if he is seriously considering it, but is just leveraging a better deal, which I don't think is out of the realm of possibility since he's turned the program around from what Snyder had done to it.woundedknees wrote:The odd thing is, Missouri forwarded a proposed announcement to him RE: Staying, and Anderson has not given the AD permission to release it as of noon today.
