Does anyone know the details on why he is immediately eligible? Is it because of his past issues with eligibility and the NCAA dropping the ball or just because he's a transfering player graduating this yr.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis guard Roburt Sallie plans to pursue basketball elsewhere after he receives his degree in August.

Sallie, a junior, will have one season of eligibility remaining after playing with the Tigers the past two seasons and at City College of San Francisco as a freshman.

He set the Tigers' single-game record for 3-pointers made with 10 in a come-from-behind win against Cal State Northridge in the first round of the 2009 NCAA tournament.

Sallie is a 6'5/200 guard.

He wouldn't be a bad pick-up and could help immediately. I wonder if he's going to visit Washington since they have some room too.

"next month" seems like an eternity in this guys travels. He could attend 2 more prep schools and maybe another D1 school in that time.

Then you see other comments that suggest there may be some disciplinary issues... I have a feeling if Altman was concerned about that, he wouldn't be pursuing Sallie.

Sallie would be an excellent addition. He would be a massive upgrade over Lekendric Longmire in literally every aspect of the game.

I like the idea that the scholarship would again be available after next season.

Sallie would add needed depth, with a decent defense, as well as a shooting threat.

I don't think I have ever seen a situation like this. A guy gets his degree in August from one school, then would already be playing for another school like 2 months later. I would definitely take Sallie.

He sounds very interested in Oregon and mentions some things that make it seem as if Oregon is the leading contender. He sounds like the type of player that Altman could use until he gets a full recruiting season under him.
