Tony Kornheiser: Chung in 1st round to Steelers

Post by oreducks77 »

32) Pittsburgh Steelers- S Patrick Chung Chung is the next Bob Sanders. I promise. Teaming Chung and Troy Polamalu together back at safety... So many sweet YouTube vids are going to be rolling out of Heinz Field. Make it happen. Or let him fall to the Saints in Round Two?

Interesting. What better defense to learn from than the Steelers? Getting back with Dixon would be nice as well.

I would love to see an oregon player in the steelers defense... i might actually enjoy watching them if that were to happen.

It seems like a lot of Oregon players get teamed up. Jstew, Geoff Schwartz, & Rosario on the Panthers. Haloti & DWill on the Ravens. Now maybe Chung & Dixon.

Although I doubt he goes in the first round, I'd love to see him play for a powerhouse defense, he flys all over the field and loves to hit.

The reason it seems like a lot of players get teamed up is that there are a lot of NFL players from
Oregon. Hello Bryce Brown can you say 1st pick overall. How can this kid not see that our coaches
would mentor and develop him instead of him being a piece of meat.

What 4 players?? Unger, Chung, JJ and.... I think JWill will get drafted...just cause of his tools. Would love to see Reed get drafted also. But dunno. I would love to see JJ go to Indy.

Byrd. By the way, I just read that Nick Reed wasn't invited to the combine.

Definitely. After Unger & Chung he's the next best bet to get drafted. He could be a dominant LT & with a good combine he could go in the first day.

I'm pretty sure he gets drafted as an RT with a chance to play LT. He reminds me of Adam Snyder but a little more suited for the LT position than Adam.

I think this comment sums it up perfectly:
Although it would be interesting to watch and fierce against the run, the Steelers do not need another sometimes over-pursuing safety. Polamalu is phenomenal, and Chung is good, but together they would not be. The second safety needs to be more conservative to cover for Polamalu's sometimes-mistakes in coverage.
Chung is not a great pass-coverage safety. He is not a very good centerfielder like a Taylor Mays. He will make his money up close to the line. He needs to be another teams Troy Polamalu.
