This is the logical choice given they want to move quickly and continuity is key. They also want someone in place when the portal officially opens. It's open for current OS players right now.
Will be interesting to see what DJU does. Seems like Martinez is staying but not sure Chiles has said anything officially. There will be some who will go to MSU I suspect.

I figured that if Bray was gonna leave then he would've been announced with the other 5 coaches to MSU. I wonder if the 5 remaining coaches will all stay. They could build a pretty decent team in a merged Pac 2-Mountain West Conference. Depending on other teams they could add to a merged conference, maybe the Mountain PacWest can become the 5th Power 5 Conference?

We'll see if the B1G conference is enough to motivate him to put it together and get it done.

I love Chip, but how he still has a job at UCLA is beyond me.

With Jonathan Smith off to MSU and Fisch staying at Arizona, their options were limited.

I think people can see he didn't have a QB this year as well. Hopefully he can figure it out next year. It feels like the Big 10 is going to make mincemeat out of the Bruins, but actually, there are a lot of subpar teams in that conference, so maybe they will fit right in.

Mountain West Teams
Boise State 6-2 7-5*
San Jose St 6-2 7-5
UNLV 6-2 9-3*
Air Force 5-3 8-4
Wyoming 5-3 8-4
Fresno St 4-4 8-4
Utah St 4-4 6-6
Hawai'i 3-5 5-8
Colorado St 3-5 5-7
Nevada 2-6 2-10
New Mexico 2-6 4-8
San Diego St 2-6 4-8
46-48 74-72 Screams power 5
So add a good OSU 8-4 and a mediocre WSU 5-7 and just exactly where do you see a Power 5 Conference? Who would you add too this list? I didn't see the sarcasm emoji so apologies in advance if you weren't reallybeing serious?

Canzano laying odds that Bray gets the job at OS.
It certainly would be the logical choice.

Gotta say, I agree here. Love Chip but he is not the guy to lead them in the Big10.
The alums do not like him at all, including the big bucks people. Something/ someone saved him. Word is even the AD is not enamored with him. His buyout was not huge and they have deep pocket alums who were supposedly ready to pony up the money to buy him out.
Must be a back story here and I get that maybe the choices seemed limited, but maybe just maybe there was an up and coming young coordinator out there looking for an opportunity...........

I’m shocked UCLA kept Chip and didn’t let him go and pursue Ryan Grubb.
I feel like Chip has checked out and only wants to coach for the paycheck, seems like the passion he had at Oregon is long gone.

Trent Bray will be OSU's new coach.
