This is basically assuming Lindsay, Simpkins, and Phillips all fail to develop and take a step backwards. There's a good chance at least one of the guys step into a starting role and are a positive addition to the starting lineup.Ghost of Tajuan Porter wrote: Wed May 07, 2025 2:33 pm This team is still paper thin in the backcourt. They need a starting caliber 2, a starting caliber 3, and someone else that can play the point, whether it’s a combo guard or a straight backup PG.
Phillips looks pretty raw at this point, and Simpkins looks like an end of the bench guy to me. Who knows what Frakes and Lindsay will be. I have high hopes for both, but they’re both pretty big question marks at this point.
It looks to me like this team pretty much needs Sarr (less and less likely the longer this plays out imo) and another ball handler that can shoot efficiently in the backcourt to be dangerous this year. And that’s assuming that Bittle comes back.
Long way to go.

Oregon does have a Brand that gets its hat on the table. (Remember when they used to do it that way)

Re: 2025-26 MBB Additions/Subtractions
Well, Goodman is allegedly a scumbag, and will no longer be coming to Oregon.
Dana needs to pull some kind of miracle out of his hat at this point. This team is looking all kinds of thin, and it would be an absolute shame to waste Bittle’s final season and the junior seasons for Shelstad and Evans.
Right now we’ve got those three guys, a few players that are projects (Pryor, Stewart, Phillips), a couple guys that are pretty much unknown quantities (Lindsay, Frakes), and a couple guys that profile as end-of-the bench players that you’d hope won’t be relied on for anything significant (Simpkins, Kobzystyi).

What a loser... Honestly, he looked like such a project anyway. We'll probably be just as good off finding a foreign Center who has some upside. I'm not super worried. I'm more worried of our inability to get a very good starter at SG/SF to be that #3 scorer.Ghost of Tajuan Porter wrote: Wed May 14, 2025 10:11 am Well, Goodman is allegedly a scumbag, and will no longer be coming to Oregon.

Didn’t hear about Goodman so decided to look it up, yikes that is really messed up! Glad he won’t be wearing an Oregon jersey.

Oregon really has to scramble now for a backup center as most of the good ones with any amount of proven production/upside are gone. Still would be nice if they could find a decent shooter and an actual backup PG.

Besides Ristic's name popping up, it sounds like there's a graphic floating around for another guy who's committed to Oregon.

Re: 2025-26 MBB Additions/Subtractions
So Oregon added the older brother of Sean Stewart, who was a lightly used backup F at Howard. Doubt he contributes much given his production his previous 4 seasons. Hopefully Oregon can add the Serbian G Ristic.

Oregon has contacted USC transfer G Desmond Claude, who averaged 15.8 ppg last season.

God I hope there’s no truth in that. The absolute last thing this team needs is a notoriously hot and cold, 27% 3pt shooting, volume guy.
This team needs some low block beef and a couple shooters.

Claude is an excellent inside and mid range scorer. I’d take him in a heartbeat. Doubt we’d have what it takes to land him though.

Re: 2025-26 MBB Additions/Subtractions
Not sure where Oregon turns to fill their remaining needs after missing out on Mbiya and Ristic. I haven't heard any other names they've been tied to recently. Once you get past Bittle, Evans, and Sheltsad, the talent level really drops hard.
