I read that right now, they only have about $35 million in salary with that likely to only go up to about $40 million if Batum signs. They have to get up to around $48 to do that so they better start signing some people.
Roy's contract still counts towards that since Paul Allen is still paying him so Blazers could stand pat and be way under the cap and just go into the season with a crap team and work on several unbalanced trades in the season

Besides the Freeland deal, I saw this tidbit, from earlier this morning:

Marc Stein@ESPNSteinLine
Among Nets' reasons to push for Dwight finality today, sources say, is fear Blazers will sign RFA Brook Lopez after Indy matched on Hibbert

Wow, yes please. Lopez can't rebound worth crap, but his offense and defense down low would be great.

aldridge/lopez would be a comically poor rebounding duo. the message board meltdowns when we can't grab a late rebound might be work the contract.

Nice to see Singler back in the NBA with the Pistons. Will be cool to finally see him play.

Sam Amick@sam_amick
Aaron Brooks' deal w/ Kings averages $3.3 million on a two-year deal, player option in the second year, source tells SI.com.

I wouldn't have mine seeing him come to the blazers for a year or two.

Meh, I'd pass on the possibility of Birdman getting charged with federal crimes at some point.

Why are these yahoo links so long? garbage...

Lol, that is true. But his shot blocking would be great for the center position.

For rebounding alone do you think we could get Dennis Rodman to come back and play for one year at the Blazers?
