I believe he redshirted the 2008 season...making him a redshirt sophomore in 2009.
Dang! Getting all the stud LB's should help our special teams too as they can contribute right away on those units if they don't see the field on D.

Yet again another huge commitment for the Ducks. I was predicting Oregon but I just had a bad feeling he would spurn us and be just one more guy to bolt to CU. Glad to see my gut was wrong and my brain was right. HAHAHA.

We sat with Irvin at the Holiday Bowl luncheon, nice kid and very respectful. He said he is working very hard and needs to work on his foot work and decision makin as the D playbook is vey complex.

or Terrance Pritchett. Coming of HS, he was the #2 MLB in the country! (according to scout)

I liked a lot of the comments.

sickaduck, you pretty much took the words right out of my mouth/typing fingers. Both the apparent talent level at LB (really, even before these commitments) and how things have fell through for us on DT recruiting over the past two years would almost seem to demand a switch to a 3-4. I've never been a coach, but the scheme obviously works for many teams; and I'm sure it was usually after being in a 4-3.

Thanks fpsduck for the info re Irvin. So does he have three to play three or two to play two?

Nice to hear your experience with Irvin, ducksvb6.

Re Pritchett, UOducksTR1, I sure hope he's back in good graces with the team and working hard to realize his potential.

Mops... you always gotta trust your gut, and your sources. In this case both were right.

One exception, WR recruits. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for their decisions... lol

3-4, 3-4, 3-4. Let me say it one more time Coach A. incase you missed it - 3-4. Man the blitz packages we can throw at the Sanchez's of the Pac-10 will be awesome especially with the new speed at LB we have in this class to help with coverage. I LOVE IT! Welcome senor Clay and Pocojuan (Littlejohn for you greengo's).

Maybe even Terrance Pritchett, if he really has gotten his act together, and Tyrell Irvin, as said above.

It's great to see our LB corps getting stronger as they've always been somewhat of a weakness in the past.

No, no big conference or tv gathering, just pick up the phone and call, the old fashioned way.

Knowing NA, we will run the 3-4 but never send the other LB. I'll leave it to himto take a team strength and turn it into a weakenss.
